He galaxy brained every decision in that series. Playing a slow-footed Forbort who hadn't seen game action in months. Not pulling Ullmark in game 6 despite him clearly appearing to be injured. The insane blendering of the lineup for game 5 after they just won back to back on the road.

I think he deserves only a small share of the blame for how this season has turned out. But he played a huge role in that '23 choke job.
Hall and Coyle were an absolute force in dominating games 3 & 4, so let's force a hobbled Krejci and Bergeron back into the lineup for game 5 and give them way more ice time than the guys who were destroying Florida the last few games. And let's blame Grzelcyk for Ullmark 's mistake in game 5 and put Clifton in instead for a game 6 matchup that doesn't favor him at all. Not to mention having a clearly injured goalie in for six games before switching to an ice cold 1B who hasn't played in 17 days for the do or die game 7.

That was possibly the worst coaching job I've seen unfold since Grady Little.

While you are right, none of them are verified on Twitter so they'd hardly get much of anything off posting things there if they were seeking engagement money.
He just wants more exposure for his shows. I don't think he cares about some twitter post, like you're saying.

In my opinion, he just makes obvious shit up in broad daylight to pretend like he knows something. It's pretty shameless if you ask me.

If this ends up being true, I reserve the right to change my stance haha.

So where does Monty go and win a cup next season? :sarcasm:

It's one of those things where I wouldn't be shocked if it's true or he's just baiting so no shame in being wrong off the words of an internet grifter for a hockey team lol

Can't wait to hear all the "sources" talk about Monty's shortcomings that come into focus after this. Cassidy was too mean so Bruins got him out, Monty is "fill in the blank" so they just stopped trying. The Sweenolytes have another victim.....Jim take your rightful place next to Bruce Cassidy, Mitchell Miller's agent and Keith Gretzky in the trophy room of scapegoats.

If I had to guess the actual issue with Monty is that the country club style of coaching was actually how he coaches and it worked to great success with the strong culture the team had. Once he had to switch it up when Bergy left it came off as fake and the players just don't listen now. Still all on the GM/Players but they aren't gonna raise their hand and admit their the problem when you can fire one guy and blame him.

Great post and get it, but clock is ticking on the GM. Make the play-offs or see ya.

Sacco also has already been overlooked for the last two coaching vacancies, not sure what has changed.

Sorry but he had to go. He blew the first year, then you saw distinction starting before the TD, and now they just aren’t this bad. We are missing something internal.

Monty will land on his feet. Despite things i truly do think he's a damn good coach. Gotten results pretty much everywhere he's gone and is very well liked.

I already said it but i would be willing to put money down on him being the Habs new coach going into next season.

I believe Monty was thought to be a player's coach. A great guy who players loved and wanted to play for.

IMO, they never should have let Cassidy go. Great coach. Innovative. Tough on them. Hopefully they learned from their mistakes and next time will move out the guys who complain about a demanding coach rather than switching to a player's coach.

Fwiw, I think Marchand was also in the pro-Cassidy camp and his comments last night about not holding guys accountable for poor play might have been a shot at Monty, though he quickly put himself in that mix and said just because he's been here a long time doesn't mean he's earned the right to remain here.

OT: Sacco does nothing for me. My only hope with him is that it removes the excuses that this was Monty's fault.

3-2 FLA going into period 3 game 6

2-1 FLA going into period 3 Game 7

How about some fault to the GM for not adequately replacing Hall, Bertuzzi, Orlov, Bergeron, Krejci and DeBrusk?

Ive always thought people were overly harsh on Sweeneely here, but to me if you're on coach 3 of YOUR choosing, then you should be gone too....especially when one of those coaches goes elsewhere and immediately wins a cup

Chiarelli got only 9 seasons here before he was fired and that guy actually won a Cup! We're in year 10 of Sweeney with nothing to show for it but a single Cup run that ended with Karson f***ing Kuhlman in the top 6. I have so little faith in ownership holding management accountable, but these guys need to be shown the door.

Bet you anything that Jimmy Murphy or some flunky mouthpiece makes a reference to his drinking problem.
