What about Crawford for Kinkaid straight up?

Montreal gets the better goalie, and someone they should be able to trust more than Kinkaid in an attempt to save their season.

Chicago gets a capable backup and saves $4.25 M on the cap this year, freeing them up to make more moves this year.

I could see both of these guys re-signing with these teams to form new tandems. Price-Crawford, Lehner-Kinkaid.

i think gus or saad to montreal would make sense.

This is going to get ripped.
Gus Sikura and Saad to montreal for Petry and Caufield

Bergevin will listen if you want to dump a contract but it all comes down to what you are willing to give us as incentive. We are likely the only big market team with cap space that would be willing to ask our owner to write off some money
and that is the way it should be done. what it will take to fix a problem they created.

nice way to rebuild the org.

1)His family still lives in Chicago as far as I know
2)It's American Thanksgiving
3)He used to work for the Blackhawks and is good friends with management. It's been his home since his rookie playing days.

Why wouldn't he take in games when he's back home?

Laughable at best. Wouldnt trade Petry OR Caufield for those two, unless you added...alot.

Moving little in return? Kane is actually worth his contract, especially when you consider that now that other players are getting paid in the 10 million range. I'm going to just assume you meant that they wouldn't have to send out a lot of cap back.

ya the return would be substantial, but is he even available ? which was more my question. i dont watch hawks broadcasts and just wondering if hawk fans think its time to move him to get proper assets for a true rebuild.
a guess a move like this will be tackle in the summer when most teams will have cap space for him.

come on, what do you expect to do.... cry ??

I think Weber played well since he came over. I ain’t the one crying here, you are (probably because you miss vintage Subban - which doesn’t exist anymore).

Ok fair enough. Only thing I'd say is this trade gives them the space to add another player or players that they may not have been able to acquire otherwise, and in the meantime you'd still have a 2nd goalie that could and should be a reliable 30-40 game guy.

I'm suprised no one is talking about Chad Krys or Nicolas Beaudin the habs are thin at LD for the futur. I wonder what would chicago want for one of them ? A Prospect Winger or RD ? Maybe a Goalie prospect (Mcniven?)

Thin at LD for the future? Mete, Romanov, Norlinder, Harris, Struble, Fairbrother, LeGuerrier and even Leskinen is looking good in the AHL. Pretty sure it's actually our deepest position since last draft.

Thought you were a Habs fan. Anyway, as everyone else I was a bit shocked when the trade happened but as soon as I saw Weber play regularly in Montreal I understood the trade and was very happy with it

Haven't seen MB make a such a bad move since he's in place with the Habs.
Tell me witch trade MB made that was such a bad move ???
btw Drouin is not a bad move
the Andrighetto one was pretty bad.. same with the King one
but otherwise, I agree with you; he's not horrible. Id liek it if he tried taking chances more

Dallas had 2 scouts in Mtl yesterday, so maybe it's for them and not Chicago?

If it's Chicago, I said it last time Bergevin was spotted in Rockford, I wouldn't be surprise if he's interested in Sikura and/or Holm (if he think he can be better than Kulak/Reilly). Maybe it's a sweetener to get rid of Zack Smith contract?

At this point, I can't see him giving much for a rental when the team is losing so badly. We aren't a clear cut playoff team, even if we add 1 big piece. We are 3 pieces away from being a real playoff team.

Ps: LOL at the one expecting Mtl to give Caufield for Saad and Gus.

Andrighetto put up an amazing 19 games, but he was absolutely nothing special after that. An average bottom-6. So, even if he "lost" that trade, you can't call it pretty bad when we talk about 2 4th liners.

Doubt Montreal would pick up Crawford, I could see a possible Toews for Poehling, Mete, 2020 1st trade though.

Yeah, I think too often fans react to GMs/scouts going to games as a sign of something being imminent, when it's just what they do.
