Nice list, any reason for Martin being outside a first?

I might’ve just not seen the right games from him, honestly. In the ones I have seen, I just haven’t seen a player that is super interesting to me. I feel like he’s a decent player, but I’m not sure if he possesses a set of tools that would justify taking him in the first round. There are just better players ahead of him in my opinion.

Impressively long lists. How many of these kids have you seen playing? Ever? This season? At least three times?

Personally, every player I’ve ranked I’ve watched play league games. It’s more difficult for me to see European players in quantity, but guys like Eklund and Frondell I’ve watched multiple games of because they are highly regarded. But, you’ll always see a N.A. bias in my rankings because it’s not easy to watch the Czech League for instance.

Believe me, a lot of these draft pundits are not watching as many games as you think despite them making a living off of it.

Bay Area
1. Misa
2. Martone
3. Schaefer
4. Frondell
5. McQueen
6. Eklund
7. Hagens
8. Martin
9. Cootes
10. Smith

I think Hagens goes outside the top 5. Big drop off after the top 3.
Now this is a hot take.

It's at least justifiable to have Schaefer, Misa, or Martone ahead of Hagens based on the fact that those three are having insane seasons. But no one else has been better than Hagens this season, that's ridiculous.

Any reason you’re so low on Hagens?

I think he has been a defensive liability (to my surprise) and he isn’t a shooting threat right now. He’s being carried by two excellent prospects who I think have a good shot at being better NHLers than himself.

I’ve been known for my hot takes here.

Q.Hughes > Dahlin (although I flipped a few times)

Makar 2nd on my draft board

Stutzle top 10 a year before the draft

Jarvis should have gone top 5

Michkov being worth more than Carlson/Fantilli combined

I’ve missed on plenty but I see star talent in the top 3 and think Hagens lacks certain significant attributes that will prevent him from being elite in this league.
