Quentin Musty and Gavin McCarthy are going to be massive risers imo
How good do you think McCarthy is?

I don’t know that much about Musty, but McCarthy looks really good to me. He might be good enough to be the first defender off the board next season.

What positions do the following guys play up front?:

Matthew Wood
Charlie Stramel
Zach Benson
Riley Heidt
Kasper Halttunen

Feels like there are a dozen forwards who are as good or better than Logan Cooley.

Who will he play for internationally? I assume Italy but... would he have more opportunity playing for the Swiss?
Someone posted on here that he wants to play for Switzerland and that’s why he doesn’t have any games for Italy yet.

Who are most interesting defenseman in this draft at the beginning of the year? Any potential studs? Plenty of high end forwards but I don't know about dmans yet. Just starting to collect initial list.

To me Gulyayev for sure. He kinda reminds Makar with his skating and offensive instints, and is solid defensively as well. Of course it's a little bit premature to be certain about anything but right now kid's prespectives look great.

Ranking players and mocking where they are drafted are two different things.
Eh? Look at the threads title ...

I heard that he’s signed over there through 2026? Is that true? Such a good player, but he could be a big time risk.
Even though he is considered a phenom. I wouldnt risk it with a 2023 1st. But with an extra 2nd. Yes

Unless he can leave for EU or NA

I was going to say this. So much could happen in the next year. The Russian factor will be relevent again. Not to mention Michkov signed through 2026, and who knows what will happen after that. Imagine picking him 2nd overall and he never steps foot in NA. That would be gutting to a franchise

Talent wise Michkov SHOULD be ranked 2nd but with the rising situation there plus him being signed for another three years after, I genuinely don't know if the team picking second would pick him there.

When Minnesota offered Las Vegas to choose between Kaprizov and Tuch at the expansion draft the Knights took Tuch. Probably out of the same mentality...

Take this with a boulder of salt. I've seen a handful of these guys quite a few times, but there are just as many takes based a little too heavily on Twitter highlights and opinions I've read or heard from various sources around the internet. Players lumped in tiers are basically on the same level for me. You could push me in any direction on those guys. Russian prospects are all duplicated to show where I have them ranked versus the latest I'd let them drop over perceived political phobias. Also note that this is a personal ranking and not a mock draft.

If Michkov arrives in the NHL with the same level of dominance Kaprizov demonstrated, the wait will have been well worth it.

To piggyback on @Pavel Buchnevich 2022 thread - what does your early 2023 list look like?
2022 Thread: Post Your 2022 Draft List

I'm interested to see what the posters of HF have.
Many say that the 2023 is real deep.

But is it due to Bedard and Michkov bringing up the the average? Plus some solid prospects from 3 to 7. And then a flatline?

Where would for example Slafkovsky, Lafreniere slot in the 2023 draft?

Solid? Fantilli would have been in the running for 1st in 2022 if he was available.

I find it hard to compare different prospects in different draft years, since a lot can change...even in 6 months. No one had Slaf so high a year away.

Laf is a different case. He was the undisputed no. 1 for two years. He was two-time CHL player of the year before he was drafted. A lot of deserved hype. The last player to win back to back CHL was Crosby.
