Well it's - 34 degrees C as I type this -- but good new Winnipegers !!-- it's warming up to the minus - mid 20's in a couple days, to give us a little break. Wooo - hooo -I'm thrilled !!!

Should have been born in California -can't take the cold anymore  :brrr:

You know at - 34 C - this could be a "record" start temperature for my car :)

So much for Global warming -- I'm not a believer !!!

Welcome to January in Winnipeg.

It sucks ass but it can't stay cold forever.

The thing you have to remember is that being 22-4-2 against non-playoff teams is a sign that we're horrible and squandering easily winnable points and God help us if we go on a three-game losing streak, it'll be the End Times because no cup contender EVER and I do mean EVER loses three or more in a row except for Calgary and Calgary again and San Jose and San Jose again and San Jose a third time and Nashville and Nashville a second time and the New York Islanders and Washington and Washington again and Las Vegas and Montreal BUT THAT'S it, absolutely NONE of the other nine top-ten teams this year in the league except for those seven have lost three or more this year.

And furthermore, no other time in NHL history has ANY team that has won the Cup lost three or more in the regular season and don't bother fact-checking that claim because as soon as you do I'll move the goalposts and claim something completely different.

I knew it!! It's the End Times! :scared:

Bet Niku plays tonight...mainly because he’s being showcased. If Chevy trades him for a rental, I won’t be too happy.

Do some people seriously think we're a place to be selling at the deadline? :laugh:We're currently 4th overall tied with NSH and 1st in the Central with 3 games up on them. Sure, we have some off games, but we're going to the final dance. This isn't a fold year, it's a go-for-the-gold year.

No, but if we continue to see what we saw last night we might be a wildcard team...

Not a game to write home about . . .

I liked Niku and that's about it.

I've read the numerous comments on Wheels - some assuming he is sick - that's how bad his game is right now.
His game has been off for a while now and it almost looks like he is having trouble keeping up with a fast team. Our first line is no longer fast and Wheeler has a lot to do with it. Over reacting? I hope so - prove me wrong against Boston.

Little's line is struggling - Laine needs to score on nights where he is getting 6 shots - he's an elite shooter, right?
They are on the ice for all of Phili's goals - even with Little's D, they are horrible in their own end. What a tire fire of a line.

Goal tending was OK and the bottom 6 had nothing to do with this lose -

At the all star game, Wheeler's voice sounded rough, so I was guessing he had a cold or flu

I totally agree with your post Lefty, and watching Wheeler lately --I have to wonder if the Jet's made a big mistake by extending his contract for so long, and so much money ??-you gotta wonder if it will work out ???

But seriously though. Only Winnipeg, Nashville and Toronto haven't lost three games all year. That's pretty outstanding.

That end tonight. They are horrible in Boston. Even worse then they are in philly where they lost like 7 years in row since the 9-8 fluke win

Didn't one of the guys calling the ASG say something to the effect of Wheeler needing a rest, so he stayed on the ice. Thats awesome.

At least Laine had some legs even if it was strange to see him carrying the puck up the right side boards. A few other times he was able to carry the puck into the red zone by himself and get a weak scoring chance. Sure he had some blue line fumble-itis on the PP but the puck was bouncing. Bad ice in Philly for sure.

So you would take the 22 and 23 year old over the 20 year old?

Besides, I thought Laine had a pretty good game. Looked very dangerous quite a few times tonight.

I was basically comparing his overall game to his fellow Finns Barkov and Rantanen which is beyond disappointing right now.

His ridiculously long slump is starting to infuriate me and has to come to an end soon.

Wheeler wasn't good, I actually thought Laine was good though. Put a lot of pucks on net. Wheeler and Scheifele were skating in mud. Team is missing Ehlers in a big way.

I agree with your post here -- Laine is starting to look a lot better as of late -- skating harder, and starting to control the play more than in the past. He's coming along fine, and he's only 20 and will keep on improving. Because of his size--it takes longer for a bigger man to learn how to handle his body size.

I can agree that Wheeler and Scheifele & Connor have been awful lately.

Wheeler is definitely battling a cold based on how his voice sounded at the all star game.

Our 1st line is just not playing well.
