Seems like Martin is becoming a late riser, I could see Philly or more likely Boston at 7th taking him when all the other centers are picked off(Misa, Hagens, Frondell and Desnoyers)

Nashville won't pick a winger over Fiddler, we have about a million wingers and only Molendyk on defense and Fiddler is the first player born in Tennessee.
That is so weird to read about Nashville and their lack of defensive prospects, it just seems a little while ago that the Preds were the envy of the league with their defensive prospects. Time flies that’s for sure

Gibson is good but disappointed a little based on expectations this year.

Fiddler is ranked around where we'll be drafting 23 and 28, he fills a big need and he's a home grown talent.
Well, my point is that IMO Fiddler isn’t a meaningfully better prospect than Gibson right now. If you’re solely interested in him because of his birthplace, that’s fine, but I just thought it was weird to be interested in Fiddler but disregard Gibson.

Our cupboard is bare on defense, we need more prospects in general, not to say that Gibson isn't good but he's not on Molendyk's level.
I also have Nashville already selecting Reid
I can see us taking two defensemen in the first depending on who's available at 23.

Good mock! As a Habs fan, I think I would love Reschny and Hensler. I also think SAI pick Ravensbergen at 19.
Montreal’s not passing on Lakovic if he’s available at 16 OA. Hensler and Lakovic would be an unbelievable draft for the Canadiens. But that’s the problem, it’s largely unbelievable as both will be going in the top 15, if not sooner.

I'm not sure they pick Lakovic, they lacked sandpaper in the playoffs and he is very soft

And you are enthused about Reschny? I suspect that other teams have a higher opinion of Lakovic's upside, soft or otherwise.
Don't get me wrong, I would looove the Habs to grab Lakovic, particularly if they believe they can develop him to have a more physical presence. For Reschny, there is the fact that he plays center, and while he may be on the smaller side, for what I could gather, I believe he doesn't lack intensity in his play.

I agree. At 16 and 17 OA we’re getting a good player. Ignore the noise that calls this a poor draft. While there’s no Mckenna, DuPont or Maddox level player available this year there’s good value throughout the first round and the reason I hope Hughes doesn’t chase a deal. There is no player available on the market who could be acquired at a reasonable price that’s going to materially improve the Canadiens’ compete level.

Lakovic and Hensler would provide a smallish team with a combination of size and great mobility. Just look at these playoffs. If you’re smallish, you’re going to get steamrolled. And if you lack mobility, you’re not making the playoffs.

Regrettably, unless Hughes moves up, both will long be gone before Montreal drafts. This is where Hughes should be aggressive.

nice mock....curious if Schaefer were in next years draft where you think he'd go in the draft? As an Isles fan who thinks they are a lottery team next year (I'd guess somewhere in the 10-11 spot again next year), they can pick up a very good forward to put in their prospect pool but get the elite Dman and a slightly worse forward than if they took Misa #1

Not so sure they'll be gone, a lot of public outlets have both (or one of both) sliding and be available at 16/17. I personally prefer Carbonneau over Lakovic, but either one of them will be good. I expect at least one of Carbonneau, Bear and Lakovic at MON's picks, and for the second one, I'd be fine with Hensler/Reschny/Spence.
