Mika @ 50 % should be attractive for quite a few teams. If the Rangers sit down with him and say they want to move on I dont think he will block a trade to a playoff team. Who wants to play for a team that doesnt want them anylonger?

I think he'd block any trade. He's comfortable in the city, and I'd bet he's a guy who first thinks about what the pressure will be like if he goes somewhere to try to win.

Also, even at 50% retained, we'd likely still have to lose the rest of the trade. He sucks and he doesn't put in the work, so it's not going to get better.

Seems like Borgen is at the bottom of theese charts in every game since he joined the Rangers. Who will trade a 2nd, or even a 3rd, for him at the deadline? We`ll be lucky to get a 5th.

I don’t think he’s been great but these cards are trash.

Someone traded a 1st for Ben Chiarot. Teams have hard ons for size.

Not bothering thinking of a title.

They suck, but this is one of those games, in a vacuum, where...I don't know, you need some saves to win in this league. :dunno:
19 seconds into the game Kreider on a rush down the left side crosses over the blueline and upon hearing a dman skating towards him from the side shoots it at the goalie rather than proceeding further along the boards and into the corner where a big man like himself should be able to do so and maybe even get it to a Ranger player.....he has to go ASAP ! It is sad just how much he has regressed .

It's been reported that Dolan was upset about paying out Gallant for so long to do nothing. Drury really painted himself into a corner.
I just read the Gallant book that came out in December . He had a NDA upon his firing . He got his last paycheck in June .

Seriously? Dolan has done that for so many Knicks personnel. He paid Larry Brown a shit to do nothing. He paid out the woman Isiah Thomas harrassed and continued to employ him.
He paid Brad Richards 40 million before he stepped on the ice-strike season -and all and eventually paid him 60 million for very few games .

I need to figure out how I can get a set of Golf Clubs into the Garden and during a stoppage of play, get down to the ice level with them. I want to toss them right over the glass onto the ice. Can envision the clubs sliding out of the bag onto the ice. Some extra balls bouncing around into the corners. That's how I feel about this team.

I'm almost sure Drury and Lavi would allow that . In all honesty it sounds like the best idea I have read in 3 weeks .

Difficult to gauge how dire the situation actually is. They can’t be this bad, and at the same time you wonder how much longer this can go…

For the MSG end line, they will push for a playoff narrative. For those looking for a Top 5 pick, it’s nonsensical. They will be respectable enough, for better or worse.

Do you ever wonder what's going through Mika's mind, in other words is he going to play out his contract like this? Is he going to somehow improve? What's the plan man.
He would not even shoot when he had the chance on the PP last night after the shorty against us....he has no confidence at all....something is mentally wrong with the guy . I hope somebody is keeping an eye on him off of the ice . He has some things going on in his head and it is not good .

How do you see them possibly making a playoff push?

Well, based on Miller's comments about some players need to be better teammates on the bench, who do we think he is talking about?

Kreider? Mika?

Yes and Yes. Mika should go on personal leave and Kreider should be traded for a culture guy and a 1st round pick. ASAP. Call up Othmann. If someone is going to whiff on glorious chances all night, I prefer it to be a rookie with potential

Borgen will at least knock a guy down

I like the tippy top end C isnt available. Means no shortcuts.

Take the PF wing or Schaefer. Suck again and McKenna. THEN you've got some foundational elite talent to put all of Drury's workers bees and gritty mcgrits around.

Recycle Fox for a younger high end D and another high end piece since 30 year old Adam Fox is probably dead at that point. Get the timelines aligned so again, no shortcuts.
I've been talking about timelines aligning since the Hank yrs.

Welcome to my misery :thumbu:

Mika's contact rate on one timers is worse than a MLB hitter. It's pretty unimaginable. He's expected to shank or whiff more than get it on net, which is like the minimum an NHL player should do

I come in peace.

Fire your coach and call up defensemen.

The Rangers are so close to being elite.
We have no defensemen in the pipeline with more than bottom pairing potential.

We're best taking a punt on this season and bringing in a young center or LHD that can be a difference maker and cutting the dead weight and retooling this year and next.
