No it wasnt. Columbus and Utah both wanted him. Its not as simple as just trade down and get a guy. He is going to be awesome.

Hopefully this pick works out, but it sure seems like Madden was straight up full of shit in his interview... talking about no such thing as late risers, never drafting for need.

He's a late riser who it seems like they took because they are short of right handed wingers.

actually, he was 6.02.75 at the combine and his upside is thru the roof. And he's a right shot RW. Not my top choice but this was an inspired pick.
