Its mostly modelling based on production (so it has limited value), but Montreal's prospect pool shot up to 10th in Hockey Prospecting rankings (mostly on the Barron acquisition, Roy's excellent season and Guhle's growth).

It's nice to see Farrell and Roy lighting it up, 2020 and 2021 are starting to look like really good draft years, 2021 in particular.

Guhle/Farrell/Dobes with upside potential for Tuch/Mysak and Mailloux/Kidney/Kostenko/Roy/Xhekaj with upside potential for Trudeau/Simoneau, maybe even Kapanen.

Development will be the key for players like Farrell and Roy. If Habs are able to develop well both... and if both reach their full potential... the forward group will be set for longtime with the fact they will select a C like Shane Wright. Farrell and Roy have big talents, they are 1st round talent, no doubt about that.

Roy - Suzuki - Caufield.
Farrell - Wright - Anderson.

That's sound like a very very good top 6 if Roy, Farrell and Wright reach their full potential... Anderson is a keeper and is a perfect top 6 powerforward to complete a C like Shane Wright.

Not bad rankings both Heineman or Roy should probably out rank Struble imo. Is this the guy who is not a fan of Roy?

Gotta feeling Struble's gonna bust. Hopefully he has a bit of a bounce back year though. Rooting for him though for sure.
Roy also has huge doubts. Scoring in the juniors is great and all but he desperately needs to improve his skating and his effort level

Looks pretty well aligned with how I'd rank them. A couple notable differences would be that I'd have Davidson and Kapanen a few spots higher each.

If we include the rookies, my ranking:

1. Kaiden Guhle*
2. Arber Xhekaj*
3. Juraj Slafkovsky*
4. Logan Mailloux
5. Owen Beck
6. Joshua Roy
7. Adam Engstrom
8. Sean Farrell
9. Filip Mesar
10. Jordan Harris*
11. Lane Hutson
12. Justin Barron*
13. Jayden Struble
14. Emil Heineman
15. Cayden Primeau
16. Jakub Dobes
17. Vincent Rohrer
18. William Trudeau
19. Riley Kidney
20. Jesse Ylonen

I'll stop at 20.

Truth is, if I had to protect Xhekaj vs. Slafkovsky, I would protect Xhekaj. He too has immense potential to get better in his 20s, and is already bringing a unique element to the lineup.

Still not sold on the NHL projectability of Lane Hutson's game.

Farrell is number one for sure. Hutson needs another year or two in the NCAA, Roy is ahead of him and Beck.
Based on talent, hutson is a better prospect than both. Roy is obviously closer to pro hockey as he’ll be with the rocket next season probably?

It might be more telling to do a U23 ranking.

Many of the young guys who are being skipped out of this list as "graduated" are very much in he novice stage of their development.
