That's the life of an NHLer. Cant feel bad for a guy getting paid 500+k to play the hockey full life

Yes and no. Any player that gets waived hopes to get picked up again, and he keeps getting picked up again, ssoooo...

I'm sure he's ecstatic to get claimed. He will be making Hundreds of Thousands more than if he was in the minors.

He's not really that good though is he? Like he's an undersized skill forward who had an impressive 20 games on the Oilers. Mike Sillinger had it the worst.

He mad $90,000 from being in the Pens organization for 24 days. Sorry, I'm not going to feel bad for him.

I don't think I'd deem him as a "poor Arcobello" and no he's not "living the life of an NHLer" either. He's getting to see the country at least, I don't know that he'll be in the NHL next year, maybe could be the Coyotes 4th line guy if he can be good at faceoffs and such, he could be Arizona's Cliche.

NHL players don't get bounced around this much, his is an AHL player, who happens to have a contract that leaves him susceptible to waivers every time a team wants to "send him down," its that simple.

I wish him all the best.

I actually was impressed with him his short time in Nashville. But he may break Sillinger's record at this place.

FYI:If you're going feel sorry for a well paid player, feel bad Roy he was traded from Nashville to Edmonton for Arcobello. He went from a top 5 team to the laughingstock of the NHL.

If I were Derek Roy, I'd just pull an All Star move and drink Bacardi on my jet ski's while reminiscing about 2007. He may be able to get a contract for next year but he's not the same player he used to be.

Sorry nothing. The fact he keeps getting claimed means he keeps making an NHL paycheck instead of a much smaller AHL one.

He is what he is, an easily replaceable bottom six forward...those kinds tend to be able to get work.

The moving part does indeed suck, but there's no way he actually got a place to stay in either Nashville nor Pittsburgh.

I'd take him back in the Oilers organization. He wasn't a 2C, but he works hard enough (and is cheap enough) to justify playing him in the bottom 6 on the wing.

For 600K i'm sure most of us would live out of a hotel for a year and play on a differnt team each week. He's just not a full time NHL caliber player but at least he was given a fair shot by numerous teams.

He was playing with Malkin. Don't feel sorry for him one bit, if you can't cut it on Malkin's wing you really shouldn't be out there. Take your money and hopefully you were born with a brain too
