Lol, you guys are hilarious.

If you consider yourself Habs fans, you would want Leafs (and Bruins) to lose. Once you outside the top 10, the players are not guaranteed to be impact ones.

Whether it's 17th or 32nd overall, Habs will pick a bust so doesn't matter.
They can't even get the 1st overall right.

Okay, granted, yes... we will probably mess the pick up.

However, we can at least have some hope about the potential of who we will draft at 17 OA, and we'll be able to feel good about that for at least 1-2 years and/or until the pick inevitably (most likely) busts.

Picking at 29-32 is definitely not as sexy of a pick.

What scenario would be the most annoying on this board over the next few years?
Habs having to pick 29+ if Florida wins or,
Leafs potentially winning the Cup?

Unless I'm guaranteed Leafs get taken out in the next round... Go Panthers Go!

First Pittsburgh choked against Chicago to let Florida in the playoffs and now Bruins have a monumental choke in 1st round. Leafs are perennial chokers however i hope the pull it together here.

That 1st round pick whether 17th or 29th-30th...is a toss up for me.

Go Panthers.

Watching the Leafs lose in the 2nd round to the Panthers after just watching the Bruins lose to the Panthers would fill me with immense joy.

this one should be a no-brainer... I enjoy watching the laffs fail as much as anyone, but it makes no sense to prioritize their failure over our success...

Laffs need to win this series. Hopefully it goes 7 games and via the war of attrition the laffs limp into the next round and get swept there. That's the best case scenario!

Sure 17th would be nice, but there's no guarantee the player we would've picked at 17th will end up better than who we'd pick at 29th.

But if the Leafs lose there's a 100% guaranteed chance of Leaf tears.

Also, if they end up playing every other day then we could see the Habs win the draft lottery and the Leafs get swept on the same night if the stars align.

This is a real Sophie's choice situation. I assume, I've never seen the movie.

If the Leafs win, I won't be happy, but I'll be glad to have the 17th pick.

If the Leafs win, I'll be happy that they're out, and annoyed that the pick is going to be in the final four of the first round, but at the end of the day for Ben Chiarot, that's still a great trade.

Can't really control anything, so I just hope the two teams beat the living shit out of each other.

I'm a Habs fan - I'm not a Leafs/Bruins hater.

Do you hope your family gets the promotion or do you hope that your enemy DOESN'T get it?

Habs winning the lottery will make that 17OA pick moving to 28OA meaningless

I just want to know who HuGo will acquire dangling that late 20s pick

I can never, ever root for TML so I look at it as a no-lose situation. I hope for them to lose, and if they do I will be happy. If they win I will be consoled by the fact we get a much higher pick.

What in the world does it change to your life as a Habs fan if the Leafs lose in the Eastern Finals while we could add to OUR team a serviceable player for years to come????
Is giving up the privilege of drafting the second coming of Louis Leblanc worth watching another classic Leafs collapse? It absolutely is.
