They look different this year defensively. I like them much better.

One thing of note that no one has mentioned yet...

Yesterday's game, the Leafs promoted Domi to the Tavares/Nylander line and they played excellent.

Domi in an elevated role in THIS series means one of three things:

A) He's a firecracker every game
B) He does something extremely stupid
C) A&B

We have Ridley Greig who is similar.

Could go either way.

Which might be a disadvantage. It's rare a team wins going back and forth between goalies. Usually if one plays really well, you don't take him out.

To use EA to simplify my explanation...I think having two 85 overalls instead of a 90 and an 80 is more advantageous during the regular season, which is why you rarely see starters play 70 games anymore...however I think having the go to guy in a playoff situation is still the preferred choice.
Except with the way Stolarz has played, the leafs duo is more like a 90 and 85 overall rather than a 90 and 80 overall duo.

Ok, then let me rephrase it using yours...

Having a 95 and an 80 vs a 90 and 85....it's semantics.

Having a B and C is better for the regular season, but having an A and D is preferable for the playoffs.

This made me laugh because it's true, but it also makes us hypocrites because we literally loved Roberts, Tucker, Domi and Corson lol

Oh absolutely as soon as it is clear they are the 2nd best team they will be running around head hunting. I can absolutely see Laughton or someone taking a suspension in retaliation that seems to be the way things have gone.

What is different than before is... Well the Leafs roster are all filled with these types. Sens fans aren't going to like us

They might beat Ottawa, they don't have a better goalie.
Woll in his small playoffs sample has been great

Ullmark has not.

Playoffs wise the leafs have the better goal tender.

Regular season wise Ullmark is still ahead of woll (better play) and stolarz (more games at a comparable high level)

We will find out if Ullmark sucked due to Boston system/choking that went on there from 2022 - 2024 (with the leafs R1 matchup being exception lol) or if he does struggle and fall off come playoffs

Sure, that one series was definitely a choke. The Leafs finished higher in the standings the other three times.

Some of the others, I think people don't give the Leafs enough credit. They made it to the Conference finals 3 times in 4 years.

They had more than twice the payroll because they could afford to pay veterans. Ottawa could not and did not.

Like I said earlier, this underdog narrative that has persisted through time is a false one.

Losing to any team four times in a row is embarrassing, but this idea that the Leafs were some plucky underdog going up against the big bad Sens is false.
Yeah but the Sens were loaded with young talent, that didn't have to be paid yet so the their payroll didn't reflect the talent. The Leafs had some good teams no doubt but man those Sens teams were loaded.
