It's Montreal in the winter, there is always snow and the parking sucks because of it.
We head up Saturday morning.

Im coming back Saturday after the Swe-Fin game. Wife found an airbnb with in-door parking. I don't want to leave my care outside in MTL, its like a magnet for idiots

We're in Lasalle so it's neighborhood street parking, I've never had any problems in the 30 years we've been going.
Biggest challenge is figuring out which side of the street to park on so snow removal doesn't tow you away.

Enjoy your weekend, I'd suggest stopping at Smoke Meat Pete's on the 20, either on your way in to town or on the way home.
You'll be glad you did.

It hasn't really grabbed my attention, it seems gimmicky, it isn't a replacement for the Olympics.

I had read a week or so ago that the sales for this wasn't where they wanted it to be so I guess I am not alone.

I thinks it more of an audition and preparation for it.

Probably the price.
Doesn't look like many face value seats available in Montreal.

We don't have enough best on best hockey. Fact that we haven't seen McDavid and Matthews in any kind of meaningful tournament is a crime against the sport.

The language/quotes from some of the players basically suggests that is how the players are looking at it. If you're not a traditional "Hockey Canada" guy and have a chance to go to this, you gotta take it so you have a good chance for the Olympic roster.

A guy like Pietrangelo has the resume to turn it down.

I don't disagree with you at all, and yet I still can't get into it.

I guess this is because of the lack of non-NHL players and only 4 teams.

Czechia? Switzerland? Latvia? Germany? Denmark? I know they aren't necessarily gold medal favorites but they cause mayhem and upset possibility always exists.

I just hope next Olympics is on NA size ice, the Vancouver Olympics were infinitely better than the Sochi one.

The large ice sucks, no doubt there.
Swedish one?

Sure, why not, it'll be interesting to see the line combinations and match ups during the games.
It will certainly help Can, USA, Finland and Sweden be better prepared for next year's Olympics.

I think you're referring to the Finnish one, it's somewhere between NHL and Olympic size ice, if it was Olympic or Finnish, of course Finnish.

I just felt the Sochi Olympics where we won gold just had a lot less action, it let weaker teams hang around but the pace was really slow.

In Vancouver, it was chaos all the time. Germany and Slovakia still game Team Canada a hell of a push but you were on the edge of your seat all the time.

Pretty sure that USA/CAN game in Vancouver took a couple years off my life before Crosby scored the golden goal.

Your post said 'swedish one'. I don't recall a Swedish olympics.

Its too bad they cant play on bigger ice surface. Much better hockey.

One day maybe the NHL will tell team owners. "You will lose seats but we need the ice rink to be this standard."

That being said....I think this 4 Nations crap is just a waste of time and what happens if a superstar with Cup dreams tears up his knee playing this meaningless tournament?

JMHO

Interesting, I think it's much worse, not a fan at all. Play just gets pushed to the outside away from the net more.

Why do you think it's better?

I have minimal to no use for this tournament. But I cannot wait for the Olympics next year!!!

You are welcome to not watch it. Other people enjoy other things.

I completely the opposite on that opinion. Big ice means more perimiter skating. Really boring stuff. I watched a lot of KHL a while ago coz I was getting it for free. It was mind numbing. I think they all went to NHL size ice 5 years now.

A meaningless money grab tournament where our 3 best players may get injured ? What's not to hate about it
The way those three play they are probably the least likely to get injured. Not that I want it to happen to anyone, but injuries may be more to our benefit.
