We need our PK to start clicking and no funny business with the refs

Vegas has had about 2:40 min of penalty min per game lol

We are at almost double that.

I watched a game with VEG and the Wild where Vegas was getting away with so many calls. PP's by end of the 2nd were 5-1 for Vegas lol

Not sure what to think about this team still. Did Connor McDavid really say something about "we haven't forgot the last time"?

The team as a whole spent half the Kings series struggling to get some footing. Sure much of that was due to Skinner but some was being outplayed in ownzone.

A team we were supposed to easily handle gave us all we could handle. Without Pickard the club has the golf clubs out today.
Idk. It's not hard to buy into the narrative that the first couple games were going to be a rough ride. We were handicapped by players gone by injury, those players being slow to get going, and adjusting to life without Ekholm. The team shouldn't assume they are super elite, but the four wins represent the team a lot better than the two losses.

Keeping in mind its against LA who have been our perennial first round out. For some reason the team had more trouble with LA this year than they have since the 7 game series years ago. Indeed not just first two games. The 6th game was one of the worst we played and every game came down to the end and was close. there were no blowout games, none, for the Oilers unlike other series where we just waxed the kings.

In 6 games against the Kings we didn't seperate appreciably and they had the lead the vast majority of series. We also required the goal with 28secs left just to avoid going down 3-1 in games.

I voted Oilers in 7 but who the hell knows how this will go. All season long this team has shown both utter dominance and complete ineptitude from one game to the next. This series will be a test for our D as the Knights forecheck hard. The Kings played us like a game of Red Rover and that’s not how you beat this team.

Man that team had the best NHL record since Christmas and lost 4 times at home in regulation all year didn’t they? I don’t think anyone was predicting them to be a pushover.

A vast amount of posters here were predicting a 4 game sweep and that we'd mop the floor with LA.

But I think moreso that people felt that we had kind of a team and formula that LA just can't contend with.

I'll point out an OOT instance yesterday. AV's were in what felt like complete control. Nobody on the stars was mounting much and only one player was making plays. Rantanen. Without him Dallas would've lost that game 7 by a 2-0 score. Its where they were headed. All of a sudden an impact player, a forward on the level that Dallas neve had is making plays, scoring goals, getting them back in the game and winnign the game.

Its the same thing with Edmonton. LA has no superstar, they don't have any player like it, and the Oilers have McD and Drai and other weapons like Booch. Invariably in playoffs the team the greater weapons wins and much else ends up being a saw off. Especially in defensive and holding laden playoff hockey.

Just skimming Moneypuck and Nurse-Klingberg looked effective together last game. Kulak-Bouchard works, but if you need a physical presence with Bouch for certain shifts I'd sooner add Walman than Nursey. I'd run Kulak-Nurse and Nurse-Klingberg and avoid Nurse-Bouch like the plague.

And it's probably just less awkward for everyone to pretend Skinner is still the starter in practice, even if there's no intention of starting him in Game One.

Insane disrespect of Pickard if he goes back to Skinner. Still a mystery what makes Skinner keep most of the org and almost all media in his corner no matter what he does. Is it just a case of pitiful men simping with moustache envy?

Might just be a strategy to f*** with Vegas in their pre-scout... Starting Skinner is throwing the series. This isn't the Kings, Vegas is a much better team and we can't afford to all but deliberately lose a game. He's totally unplayable.
