Don't matter to me. Both teams are similar. Go to game 7 and get tired and give us rest. Either one works for me.
Yeah, I get that. But I can honestly say I've never heard "TV" used that way. It also is a pet peeve of mine when someone uses an amorphous term when referring to annoying or questionable decision making, when that decision making is really attributable to a few individuals. In reality, the 8:30 start times, starting one series before another ends, etc., are decisions made by two or three individuals.
Anyways, it was a throwaway clause in my post that I really didn't think anyone would complain about, to be honest.

The Oilers have an ingrained habit of coming out of breaks stone cold but hopeful they figure it out this time. They will need a split coming out of Dallas or the Peg.
I want all series to go 7 except Oilers. Give us some rest

Not when it gives our best defenceman a chance to get back at some point. And Draisaitl is hiding some kind of nagging injury. And our backup goaltender who won six in a row is day to day. We can shake off the rust.

I just don’t think that Dallas D core is that strong outside of Heiskinin and I don’t he’s playing 100%

Will definitely be something to watch. He doesn't look right and I imagine that's why they're going 11-7. Robertson also not great since returning.

They always start slow, at least this way we’ll have some rest as well
I think the rest will hurt us badly the 1st two games (pray for split) then help us as the series goes on.
And really help us come the finals. (If we get there)

Weird dream last night. Was Oilers Canes Final. In my dream Pickard is flying up ice and throws himself at a loose puck around Canes net and then Kapanen bangs the puck home and its 5-1 Oilers in game 3. Oilers set to take a commanding 3-0 series lead in the final. What Carolina fans are around are booing.
A couple things didn't make sense. Why was Pickard going in on the forecheck, then I noticed it was a delayed penalty call and he said f*** it I'm going to try to score. He got an assist.
Then I realize both teams have Canes jerseys on. the Oilers are too good so they make the clubs wear Home and Road Canes Jerseys because the games are too onesided. In my dream the Oilers had won the previous game 8-2 and 8-1. Then I figured something suspicious is going on and saw Bettman rubbing his hands...
The weirdest thing about the dream is Bo Derek wasn't in it.

I feel the exact opposite. Dallas and Winnipeg are taking a toll on each other while we get to rest and heal up, gameplan and hopefully add some different wrinkles to our special teams. This team is playoff hardened over the last 4 years, rest is the best thing for us right now.

I also had a weird dream. Zombies were trying to break into a warehouse room me and a bunch of people were in, but we set up some automatic turrets and got our guns ready, held them off for a bit, but once the waves of them got too much, we had to climb up the roof. I then flew off the roof into the night sky and went to visit my dad. It was winter and apparently the roads to his house are vertical, so I had to flap my wings/arms really hard to get over them. When I was at his house, we decided to watch t.v on an old rabbit-ear antenna, dial t.v. Then I decided to go to a McDonalds that was apparently just a shack at a nearby river. I woke up.

We would want Dallas for the same reason we'd want LA. We looked pretty good vs Dallas, and we got to Oettinger pretty well. They have Rantanen now, but it's still mostly the same team and play the same way

Basically depends who you think is easier to exploit. Lindell-Ceci pairing or playoff Hellebuyck. Playoff Hellebuyck looks worse, but I still have PTSD from 2021 and just know that he'll randomly bounce back and find his game against us. So I prefer Dallas for the defense pair that literally gives up more than twice as many chances as they create.

I'm more concerned about players healing up from injuries. Buys Ekholm and Pickard some more time and I'm fairly certain that Draisaitl is playing with some lingering injuries, possibly some other players like McDavid and Hyman too.

Kinda surprised at how bad a lot of Dallas's numbers are. Lots of talk about their forward depth but almost everybody not named Rantanen has been getting outmatched by the numbers. If the Oilers' depth doesn't forget how to play over this extended break I think Dallas would have a tough time.
