It's commonly been talked about, though not in the last 10 years because we've not been competitive, but the one banner we don't have is the Presidents Trophy banner.

It's commonly been talked about, though not in the last 10 years because we've not been competitive, but the one banner we don't have is the Presidents Trophy banner.

Call me optimistic but I think we've seen plenty to realize we're deep enough to challenge more than just the franchise record for a winning streak. Will we snag the President's Trophy? I won't pretend there aren't other excellent teams that could finish higher. Boston and Vegas are excellent teams. Dallas could come out ahead as could one of a handful of other good teams, finishing out the season on a heater.

I think we're well positioned to break the franchise wins record (51 in '08-09), though. We're not dependent on any one player...so a slump by one of our big guns is going to be well mitigated by other players stepping up.

There's always the chance that most the rest of the league "figures us out" to some degree and gums up the works. But the speed and skill is going to be hard to contain night after night. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility we win 34 out the next 60 games.
