Post-Game Talk: Please Disburse, Nothing To See Here! Seattle 6, Oilers 1

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Bagskating a bunch of old geezers goes against the current.
Probably wouldn't help much aswell but I'd like to see Bouch bent his knees at least once when coasting back into his own end. I know he can do it!

Some of the players are so old It might do them in.

Gas tanks looking empty on several players as it is.

I don't know what really could be done with a "team" whereby 70% of the forwards have been mailing it in much of the season. Deeply flawed forward lineup and then goaltending.

The real punishment already applied is having a team have to play full seasons with this nature of goaltending.
Winning fixes everything, that's my go to thought with this team. Everything else is just angry armchair GMing which I'm becoming too old for. :sarcasm:

You think any of these guys could survive a bag skate?
If I would be a mean spirited person, I'd say I'm willing to take the risk. :snide:

I’m less doom and gloom on the general roster (forwards are sucking more than they should), but goaltending remains the issue as it has since the Oilers lost to Vegas because of it two playoffs ago.

And here we are. Hopefully they give Rodrigue and shot and him and Pickard can somehow salvage this
I'm guilty of liking some of the doom metal. Maybe thats my issue. haha. Anyway 2hrs of literally back breaking snow shovelling was better than 3hrs of squirming watching the game last night. Addiction is terrible. Hello my name is ......... and I'm a 50yr Oilers fan. I need help. Please help. ;)

I mean you aren’t wrong. Not an acceptable performance but it was sort of a perfect storm.

5 AM bed time, 2nd half of a back to back and on the road. McDavid, Drai, Ekholm, Skinner, Kane, Frederic, all not playing and Hyman banged up. That is about as much adversity as a team can face.
This is unfortunate term to be using right now. Do you live in Edmonton?

Holy crap thats more snow than I thought we got. Compressed, wet, sticks to everything.

The thing that gets me with Kane is they knew he would be out until the TDL. His no move came off a few days prior to the TDL, so faced with the prospect of losing Holloway for next to nothing they could have easily matched, gone into LTIR and deal with Kane and any potential overage in the week prior to the deadline.

Listening to Bowman and President of Hockey Idiot Operations Jeff Jackson, they had their hands firmly tied which couldnt be further from the truth.

What really pisses me off is we get guys like Lowe, MacT, Chiarelli, Holland, Nicholson, Jackson and Bowman who come in here and think the fans here are idiots and not engaged, like we are in Miami or Carolina or San Jose. This is perhaps the most engaged knowledgeable fan base in the league yet executives keep coming in, piss on our backs and tell us it's raining. Meanwhile every sunbelt no state tax team with a fan base that would barely fill Commonwealth, wins cup after cup after cup with the best management teams money can buy.

Sick of this shit the Oilers management keep trying to sell fans. "Trades are hard" "We had no choice" "I have no regrets"....... f*** off you entitled windbags.
I mean what do you think a team charges us to get cap compliant in that scenario? The price would be probably be huge.

What is honestly even the point of flying out so late? Wouldn't it have made more sense to let the team sleep in their own beds and then fly out to Seattle in the morning? It's not exactly a long flight.

No, he wasn't.

Broberg did so many excellent things that his peers could not. Now he's gotten a few reps he's laughing it up.

I mean this is a bit of revisionist history. He never looked that good here. Granted the organization didn't make it much of a priority.

Some players just play better in different situations, the Oilers have benefitted from Hyman massively outproducing here for example. Unfortunately the management here is pretty stupid and doesn't make many of those kinds of deals.

Yes he was.

He went down which did wonders for his game btw as it did for Holloway but he didn’t like that and wanted out. Then he came back with confidence and got to play in the cup finals.

It's not revisionist history for me. You do realize I'm Broberg Speed.

Broberg had everything the Oilers desperately needed. That was more than evident. The rare qualities he possessed. Now St. Louis has the player.

The 2nd rounder Edmonton received for Broberg... we already spent on a rental. One we haven't seen play, yet.

It's on me, I tried my hardest but it wasn't enough.

Can someone explain to me why Troy Stecher was chosen to be a forward last night? Is it that Klingberg is too brittle? It seems like offense-first Klinger would be the obvious choice, but he's four inches taller than Troy and weighs the same so probably not the stronger of the two, and isn't fully healed. Just trying to figure out that decision.

Because the club is so bad its likely rushing Drai back to action instead of telling him to just wait a bit. So that we have Drai playing, faster than expected back, and the game is against Calgary. What possible thing could go wrong? Would be nice if the mooks on this club could hold up the club a bit the very rare times they are without Drai.

I get immediately what the other posters concern is.

Would rather rest up Leon and McD for as long as possible and them in most ideal shape for playoffs.
