Post-Game Talk: Please Disburse, Nothing To See Here! Seattle 6, Oilers 1

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Flames at least work and have some concept of team. Its a lunchbucket crew. The Oiles went all out on scouring the bargain aisles and old aisles for talent without any seeming recogntion for how it would fit. while losing players that would have been difference makers right now and are frankly better player than what management dragged in.
Thank Best in Class Jeff, who you will recall was recruited by OBC card holder Paul Coffey.

Bowman has to be fired the second this season is over. He cannot, and we insist cannot get his hands over this team. His talent evaluation skill is out to lunch. He is an absolute sieve at judging talent. Hes proven that this season. Jackson should be canned next. Give knoblauch a year. Hes not the issue this year.

Jackson used the Oilers organization to save his buddy's ass. Without his employment Bowman would have to attend all the court subpoenas. These guys are scam artists.
Jackson needs to go first, he’s the main problem

This was tweeted immediately after the trade.

If the Oilers weren't aware of his injury status then it was them not doing their due diligence, not the Bruins being dishonest.

Boy did the Oilers ever f*** up. Not only did we leave half of Kane’s LTIR which would have allowed us to retain Holloway but we could have used Frederic’s LTIR as well. Plus there’s a chance he never even plays a single game.

The rest of the league plays LTIR chess to get around the cap. We play checkers.

Once we have new management in place in April,

Find a way to get rid of

Arvidsson
Perry
Podkolzin
Stecher
Skinner
Stuart Skinner
Evander Kane
Klinkberg
Kapanen

They need the capspace to acquire actual impact players and undue Bowman and Jacksons clownshow

McDavid, Draisaitl, Ekholm, and Hyman will be entering the playoffs injured it looks like. Getting Kane and Frederic back probably won't even matter at this point.

Based on the Flames play today, even while losing to Dallas (they were much better than Dallas) Its looking like another loss on Saturday. The Oilers are just getting mopped up. They have trouble matching clubs that are coming at them hard. Flames will be doing that. 10 games left and we still haven't secured a playoff spot. Lucky that the Flames lost tonight. Who would think we could be saying something like that, or how close it is at the end of March?
Let's look at the bigger picture here. We have no business winning with Mcdavid and Leon both being out, but I've actually been impressed with our team (goalie aside) since the injuries.

We played great vs the Jets, Kraken and Stars before lasts night game. Some of the depth players are finally showing compete and some promise. The Oilers were on a b2b and got to bed at 4am. Let's give them that game off and see how they respond.

This might be just what are team needs to wake up

Yeah I saw, thanks. I was hoping that someone who actually watched the game might provide a bit more insight.
He was good. Made a really solid in close kick save for his first save with lateral quickness that we haven't seen here in a while. Made a nice poke check too.

Pretty much lived up to the scouting report, undersized, more skinny than short, but athletic, quick. He was better with the blockers since the preseason but he didn't get a real chance to flash a glove.

He sees the puck well, tracks across the play, plays angles. Lost the puck a couple of times going cross ice, not used to NHL speed yet. They hit a post on him. Goal against was fluky, puck up in the air and baseball swung into the net.

Not sure he can make an impact this season but promising, should at least be a backup option next season.

Been a Rodrigue fan (and love when undersized goalies do well despite an obvious size preference by scouts) but I 'm apprehensive to see him in the frying pan by starting him against Calgary and their 40 shots a game and our bad defense, would love to see him get the start against the Sharks on Thursday and Stu needs the break.

Do not get me started on the oilers injuries and not having a f***ing clue how to use LTIR. They are hoping Frédéric is back for the playoffs. Why trade for the guy knowing full well he was seriously injured and to top it off, some brains fans are convinced he will be a blue on July 1st

I hope that Rodrigue will be immune to the Schwartz effect since his dad is a goalie coach. He will basically let Schwartz help him practice but only listen to his dad.

Anyone else worried about making the playoffs? 10 games left and we have to go .500 to make most likely without Connor and Leo for at least a part of this stretch? 🤞
If the Canucks go 7-3 in their last 10 (unlikely) and the Oilers go 3-7 (possible watching that fiasco last night) then the Oilers are out.

I still think the Oilers will be in the playoffs but starting to think it will be a wildcard spot.

Not the end of the world but frustrating to see the mistakes that were made by management. Most were quite avoidable.

I get they didn’t know Kane would be out all season but the Frederic trade is hilarious.

Not only did we trade for a player who is probably on IR until the playoffs.. we gave up assets for teams to take some of his salary.

Dallas played last night, as you know. Were probably a little tired after nearly blowing the game

Flames are nothingburger team that’s on a heater
They aren't really on a heater and will miss the playoffs but I think they've done a great job with the lunch bucket guys they have.

Their work ethic has certainly been superior to the Oilers and their relatively young GM seems to know what he's doing. He isn't dodging any subpoenas either. I don't know why Katz keeps recycling these guys instead of leaving them in the blue bin.
