Post-Game Talk: Please Disburse, Nothing To See Here! Seattle 6, Oilers 1

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

People need to stop talking about Kane like he is going to be some huge player in the playoffs. Dude has missed an entire season of hockey and will be jumping right into the playoffs, probably not even for game 1. Expecting anything more than a physical 4th line is too much expectations for him.
At best he’ll need at least a couple of weeks to get back in sync, and it doesn’t look like Bakersfield is making the playoffs for a conditioning assignments.

I hope the Bowman interview on CBC was his last as GM. The smugness, and he knew exactly what he was orchestrating from day one. The McDrai era has seen clown after clown as GM.

The next GM is our last chance for a cup with McDavid and Draisaitl. And that's dependant on McDavid re-signing.

Well I'll take a physical 4th liner for this team... that's an element they can sorely use.

Kulak, Emberson, Walman and Bouchard played like ass. Nurse doing his usual back in on his goalie as well. When the goaltending is shaky at least the defence should step up.

Gonna take a step back here and say not many teams would win without their two best forwards and best defenseman.
I sure hope they rest Ekholm for the remainder of the regular season. Maybe we can get past LA, if that's who we meet again in the first round. We shouldn't need anyone to prop up Bouchard.

The last two offseasons I did everything I could to plead for a movement demanding a complete revamp of the blueline. It didn't work.

This team has been blown out with those three in the lineup and with either Skinner and Pickard in net. The missing players is less important than the teams overall play. Look at this game compared to the last time they played the Kraken, and the rest of the season series it’s a night and day difference.

What a… game. First game to see in-person this year. Drove up from Portland. Expectations were low and it didn’t disappoint! lol.

Warmups were fun lol. I always like the warmups. Noticed Pickard was going to be the starter and then saw that #35 was the backup. Weird. At least Stu’s not starting I said. Thought we then had a chance. Well it didn’t matter.

Boeing-ass first period. I said to my bride “we are the highest scoring team in the second period, or close to that”.

That’s when we imploded and gave up 4 more. Yeah we had the goal called back and then Nuge couldn’t raise it above Daccord’s pad. That was the ‘we are fragile’ moment.

Then it was score, score, score, called back, score time. Wtf. The Kracken fans, who aren’t the best at actually knowing hockey and would ooh and ahh at the worst times, were suddenly excited.

I literally bought our tickets just before we had the injuries to our stars. Ugh. What are the chances they both would be out? Never, right? At least I wasn’t the lady we talked to before the game, who literally flew from New Zealand to Miami to see her second favorite team, the Panthers play against Sid, and then to Seattle to watch her favorite team, but more importantly McDavid and Drai. Ugh.

Terrible game. No energy. Our D were brutal. Seattle was all over us and much quicker to the puck and got some bounces.

We didn’t hit the body or fight or get pissed, rather we just went through the motions. Playoffs aren’t that far off and I’m really concerned. Could be a short playoff ‘run’. Ugh.

He will still likely be one of the top forwards tbh. Even if he’s struggling.

Based on the Flames play today, even while losing to Dallas (they were much better than Dallas) Its looking like another loss on Saturday. The Oilers are just getting mopped up. They have trouble matching clubs that are coming at them hard. Flames will be doing that. 10 games left and we still haven't secured a playoff spot. Lucky that the Flames lost tonight. Who would think we could be saying something like that, or how close it is at the end of March?

Dallas played last night, as you know. Were probably a little tired after nearly blowing the game

Flames are nothingburger team that’s on a heater

It was an embarrassing loss for sure, and I called them out on it in the GDT.

But when you’re missing your three best players it’s an uphill battle to begin with, especially on a back to back where they got in late.

Bowman has to be fired the second this season is over. He cannot, and we insist cannot get his hands over this team. His talent evaluation skill is out to lunch. He is an absolute sieve at judging talent. Hes proven that this season. Jackson should be canned next. Give knoblauch a year. Hes not the issue this year.

Jackson used the Oilers organization to save his buddy's ass. Without his employment Bowman would have to attend all the court subpoenas. These guys are scam artists.
How long was good contract signed for?

The Oilers record is buoyed by 11 OT wins. A few of those go the other way and we're in a WC spot. Or at least we would be if this division wasn't terrible. The team's play this year is light years away from where it was last year as they've once again reverted to headless chicken hockey.

If they don't get things figured out soon it's going to be a very short playoffs.
