Blake had a fantastic year as GM.

He could probably see the writing kind of on the wall with some guys and went out and made great signings in Danault and Edler and a great trade for VA. Also, most people (myself included) did not want AA back but here we are entering the playoffs and he is our first line LW.

Didn't expect when we returned to the playoffs that our forwards would be this old, but they have made it work.

They've been running Iafallo - Lizotte - Brown for the past few games, don't think they break that up. Especially not since Byfield and Kaliyev have started to show some chemistry together. I think it'll be one of Lemieux/Grundstrom/Kupari - Byfield - Kaliyev

I don’t know if Lemieux is needed this series, only player I can think of on Edmonton would be Kane possibly Nurse.

When Lemieux has played well this year, he's been an absolute asset in a pure hockey sense.

He's scoring 1 goal for every 60min of ice time he gets. That's 4th best on the entire team.

There's been more than a handful of games this season where he was one of the better forwards.

^If we're getting that version of Lemieux, than he should absolutely be playing. Problem is, since coming back from injury he's looked terrible. Like he couldn't care less. Zero effort. He looks like the guy Ranger's fans were happy to get rid of.

It really is unbelievable yet proof that this team has something special going for it.

Bottom rung special teams.
Historically bad finishing, even amongst Kings teams.
Sub-.900 goaltending for a lot of the year.
Fading Kopitar.
A punchless third line for the majority of the year.
Dressed almost an NHL-record # of dmen (did we stop at 15? or get to 16? I forget).
More than 120 man-games lost to injury more than the next playoff team, and 250 more than average



Yet, here we are with an opportunity for the best season since the 102-pt 2016 team, and the 98-point Kopitar MVP powered 2018.

Props to every single player that dug deep down and found ways to win so many close games as well as to let the (MANY ) blowouts not change them, as well as to TM for being a fantastic setup/systems coach--they've collectively earned this opportunity to shock the hockey world some more, play against the best players in the world in a hockey hotbed that's surely going to be rocking, and learn and grow for the future.

I'm f***ing pumped.

Please lets do hollywood in the playoffs avatars again. All the other ones after them have been complete trash no offense but it was garbage. lets revitalize that theme again.

Plus those ones would be great for preemptively addressing the complaints about reffing

My idea that was amazing when i was drunk but a lot less so when sober was tinder/dating profiles for each player with a frame matching them with the Cup, a frame with their 'likes' (ie Dustin Brown likes walks on the beach, two Cups, and sharp knees), and "i'm here for a good time not a long time." Then i sobered up and couldn't conceptualize it any more anyway, lol.

I thought long and hard ( a good 45 seconds, which is a lot for me) about a theme. Initially it was "Surprise we're here!"

I also considered a revival of Surprise buttsecks, but in the end, with our prospect pool, cap space, and future... what makes the most sense is a song from the heaviest metal band ever!

Better showing this year than the 4 game sweep vs Vegas is what I am hoping for. If Quick goes in beast mode we might make some noise. I think the kids will surprise us as well.
