GDT: PLAYOFFS: Shout at the Devils

Freddie was as well, so I think a lot you can chalk up to the entire team f***ing around at the end of the season
See, I assume we're not winning one of the Jersey games anyway, due to our road struggles, so Game 5 would be the best time for him/Nikishin to get a game. But if we do that, we're talking over two weeks between starts for Kooch, and it's difficult to picture a win in that case.
Freddie’s struggles started after the team started to be ass. PK has been noticeably terrible since that Kings game in mid March. I don’t think there’s a “good time” to start him. If he had 1 good start in the last month I would probably still be advocating the rotation but he’s been bad. With this Devils lineup they should be able to win with a shooter tutor in net so I fully expect a 1-0 loss.

Sigh. I get it. But if we don't get Kochetkov a game in this first round, we're asking for trouble. We KNOW he struggles after long breaks between games, and after tonight, we're looking at at least a week and a half between his last start

It I’m Rod, here’s my decision tree regardless of the opponent:

1) Freddie plays until we go up 3-0, then Kochetkov, then back to Freddie until series is over.

2) If we go down 0-1, Freddie starts Game 2.

2) Regardless of series status, if Freddie loses Game 2, Kochetkov gets next start to try and steal the crease. If he doesn’t, back to Freddie for the remainder of the series.

3) Regardless of series status, if either goalie loses Game 3, Freddie starts the remainder of the series.

4) Reverse all of the names if Freddie’s significantly injured or significantly terrible.

5) If both goalies are injured, we roll Ward/Tracy for the remainder of the playoffs.

Step 6 kiss tail goodbye

It's insanity to start this game at 6 instead of 7

Yep. If you are going to do this crap, why not yesterday? Caps started at 7, Jets at 7:30.

For some reason, ESPN, who famously has ESPN2 at their disposal AND IS IN FACT USING IT TOMORROW, needs to make us go at 6 so they can go 6 -> 8:30 -> 11 on the main channel and only put one game on ESPN2 at 7:30. Pointless. Dumb.

The problem is not just ESPN, it's stupidity on the part of the NHL to have 3 Eastern time zone playoff games on a weeknight. There's no good way to have Carolina, Toronto, and Tampa host playoff games without at least one of them starting too early or too late. In this case, I'd argue they decided on one too early and one unusually late.

Dealing with Washington, Winnipeg, Dallas, LA was much easier.

It’s all a personal vendetta against me — to make my life living hell trying to watch the Canes from the West Coast!

ok, hear me out...

in 05-06, cam ward put up 3.68 GAA 0.882 sv%.

in 24-25, ruslan khazheyev put up 3.49 / 0.876.

those are close enough to a match i think we give pyotr/freddie mono, and go win the cup!
