Another positive point.

At home against the Canes we’ll be able to have Suzuki’s line away from Slavin. This improve our chances a lot.

Canes at home 31-10
Canes away 16-23

And to top it off, we beat them in their house just a little over two weeks ago. Only 10 teams beat them at home and we're among those 10 teams. They will rest players and will have nothing to fight for, whereas the Habs will have much more motivation to win if they haven't already clinched.

fwiw they’re practicing with a full lineup today

Are they working on the PP at practice today?
They should be working on d-zone coverage and breakouts.

You won't get many power plays against a team like Carolina if you're constatly stuck in your zone with a sub .900 goaltender.

We lost 4-1 in Carolina.
We beat them 4-0 in Montréal.

Guys, no more stats talk. No odds, no home or away stats, no goalies talk, no more shenanigans.

It's one last game, just show up, make it happen or not. Either they show up, or they don't.

Columbus won’t take their foot of the gas. Habs better get the precious point they need in their final game.

The main thing is to make the playoffs. Hutson and Suzuki have been carrying the team and they are both pretty beat up. If they make the playoffs, and get some rest, they should be competitive. The last few games they have not been.

Demidov is great, but he will need to get used to playing more than 8 minutes per game.

Habs have done decently against the Canes this season. However they're very nervous and this will be at home which not really an advantage when it comes to nerves

Habs will be nervous if the spot isn't clinched by then. What we don't know is how Carolina will respond.

It's possible they will have a young motivated lineup that wants to make the most of their opportunity. There could also be a veteran lineup that decides to mail it in completely.

I'll cross that bridge if we get there. In the meantime, let's look to see if cbj can win in regulation today because if they don't, message is moot.

Positive: To make the playoffs Columbus needed to win 6 games in a row to close out the season.
They're half way there, but it's a giant mountain to climb. They'll likely get goalied in 1 of their 3 remaining games IMO.

Washington needs to get into playoff mode and practice eliminating a team. Get'r done tonight Caps!
This is still my line of thinking. I wouldn't trade places with Columbus at all.
We're in the driver's seat. If we don't make it, we'll have lots of time to rest up + find a 2C.

If we make the playoffs, I'm going to be so f***ing pumped lol. The Demidov x-factor makes it so fascinating, irregardless of how unlikely we are to beat Washington. Demidov has pro-level playoff experience already and he was brilliant.

Montreal is totally gassed, they going on fumes. How they not put that away last night. Burned themselves out down the stretch. They had 3 games to salt this away and two games they had zilch. Last night only spark they had was Demidov.
