Our best chance of making the playoff is to have Flyers beat Columbus. I have a feeling Bambi will score twice on us and Caroline will do everything to beat us. They still have not forgotten the offer sheet on AHO.

Still can't believe Chicago beat us lol.

well you don't earn a playoff spot by what you do in 1 game.

So never quite got that.

There are a lot of teams every year who get in as a result of other teams winning/losing.
And that's why Montreal is a close as they are getting into a playoff spot, other teams around them have regressed where as Montreal has made baby steps of improvement.

Canes will absolutely rest their big guns tomorrow, but the problem is their young guys are auditioning for roles in the playoffs/a spot on the team next year and will work harder than the stars would have.

Jackets did go 3-3 against the Canes this year though while the Canes 3-1'd us. You'd think they'd prefer us in the playoffs as a potential second round match up. Caps went 2-2 with Columbus and Caps 3-2'd us. But in the new year we 2-1'd the Caps. Neither we or Columbus are more likely to take out Washington, but in the event we are I think the Canes should see us as the easier match up. Columbus has some heavy bodies up front.

Logically, this makes perfect sense.

The irony is we're demanding a roster of 20-something kids be more mature than the much-older fans losing their shit over every shift.

They are the second youngest team in the league. That fact does get lost on a lot of people. It doesn't mean it's okay for them to play like shit. But there is something to be said about being inexperienced, particularly being in this scenario.

The last 2-3 years, this team was out of it by game 45, so they've been playing loose hockey the second of half of the year for a few seasons. This is the first time in a lot of these players' young careers that they're in this position.

Also, quand qu'on se compare, on se console. The Blues went on a 12 game win streak. They had opportunities to lock their spot, but they lose their last 3 games and they haven't clinched yet. Meanwhile, while they lost, Flames won, so they are 2 points behind STL and have a game in hand.

This is the reality of the wild card race. It often comes down to the final game of the season. Last year, Caps clinched on the last game of the year.

Yep it'd be youngest roster to make playoffs in history if I'm not mistaken

I don't agree with this idea that the 81st and 82nd games count for more than the 74th, 75th, 76th 77th, and 78th that we won in a row. It seems ingrained in people's minds for whatever reason.
From what I've noticed is that many will spin things or cherry pick to what best suits their narrative,it is what it is.Is one game more important than another? a loss is a loss a win is a win. If they end up missing the playoffs because of a loss, all the losses could be examined to see what game was deemed to be the easiest win and frittered away to loss, that would be the most important one depending on how one views things

I really wish they'd switch to a 1 game playoff for a tie for the last playoff spot. Use the tiebreakers to get down to two teams or for teams in playoffs already.

Holy shit – I had no idea St. Louis lost their last three games. They're in a worse position than Montreal! Just goes to show how self-absorbed fans can be with their own team.

Exactly.

STL has 94 pts (31 RW / 39 ROW) with 1 game remaining.
CGY has 92 pts (30 RW / 35 ROW) with 2 games remaining.

Now STL hosts UTA tonight for their final game. CGY hosts VGK tonight and play LAK on Thursday.

Even MIN hasn't clinched their playoff spot and they have the WC1 spot.

MTL is still 4 pts up on CBJ. And CBJ need to win both in regulation and MTL has to lose in regulation.
