No there really isn’t a direction when you can’t be bothered to upgrade on Pezz for dirt cheap (actually a 4th unlike the Armia return people expected). Fortunately Suzuki and Hutson put the team on their back and got us here, but we’d be here with or without those two. Only difference is that we would have had a 2nd and maybe another one if we added a later pick. Nobody was advocating dumping these guys at all costs which is why nobody was upset that Dvorak didn’t get traded. If we want to say that Savard had zero value, then sure I can allow that. But saying Armia was worth a 4th is complete bs, he’d easily fetch a 2nd.

Basu said on the Notebook pod that Hughes required an overpayment for Armia. My guess is a second+ or maybe even a first. This was also mentioned by LeBrun

Man, the teams trying to catch up to us play brutal, brutal hockey. Columbus was the only one that played a nice style of hockey, but they ran into injuries and lost steam. I think if we clinch, it will be fully deserved.

Lol classic. There's also that Sens poster that starts with the letter R who simultaneously said we wouldn't make the playoffs while also saying that making the playoffs deprives us from elite talent as if our elite talent didn't get us here.

What are everyones thoughts on Samoskevich. He's had a pretty strong rookie season on the second line, overshadowed by a ridiculously strong rookie class this year. Really skilled player.

It's 2-1 Sabres. Shaping up to be the perfect outcome where we only need 1 point tomorrow. Really sucks that we're not already clinched, to not go balls to walls for the last few games after doing it for so long, but priority is getting in.

What are everyones thoughts on Samoskevich. He's had a pretty strong rookie season on the second line, overshadowed by a ridiculously strong rookie class this year. Really skilled player.

He looks like a quality 2nd line offensive player. I can see him being a steady 25g, 50 pt guy who brings speed, forechecking in the middle 6.

He's not eligible for an offer sheet, so it'll be interesting to see what he signs for this year.
