Is our magic number still just 3 more points?
Yeah, since those other teams still have a shot mathematically.

It honestly was a great example on how doing nothing is sometimes addition by standing pat. It gave the team a moral boost and we ended up adding players anyways with Kapanen and Demidov which is like trading for a top 6 winger and bottom 6 player but for freeI remember when people were mad Hughes didnt trade for anyone at the deadline. His gamble worked! And on top of that Montreal is now getting a potentially game breaker without giving anything

1 point against Rangers for sure.
Still need 3 pts over the rest. DET, NYI and CBJ.
That was the team I was worried about too. Hard to imagine that the last year’s President’s Trophy winner with Shesterkin in net fails to make the playoffs this year. One point and the Rangers are cooked.
That's a bit of a relief, they're the only team I was worried had the potential to turn it on and end the season on a 5 game win streak.

Maybe it's better if Rangers win that game tomorrow.Wow, Rags lost to Flyers!! 8-5.
Their magic number is down to one point.
They play Islanders tomorrow night; hopefully Islanders are looking forward to officially eliminating them.
Mods are only mods when they are in the mood to moderate. They are far to be as effective as Meta AI....Didn't the Mods say they would change this to "Playoffs Delusion Thread". Am I confused? Just checking...
There’s also special circumstances here. The captain went out of his way to go see management and said to stay put. Would nickel and diming to get incrementally better value really put us ahead? It honestly was a great example on how doing nothing is sometimes addition by standing pat. I'm going to the Friday game so getting to clinch then would be great to see!Actually on 2nd thought, I want the Rangers to win against the Islanders tomorrow - in regulation. They'd both be down to one point.
Buffalo needs to beat Columbus in regulation on Thursday. And, Sabres are on fire right now. They've won 5 consecutive games & are 8-2 in last 10.
Then Detroit loses on the road to Florida in regulation.
Montreal can eliminate them all with a win on Friday in Ottawa.

Rangers win in regulation is the best case scenarioI think a Rangers win would be good for tomorrow.
Rangers certainly fell apart. Many predicted them cup contenders in preseasonWow, Rags lost to Flyers!! 8-5.
