If the Habs have a 2-2-1 record in the next 5 games, other teams will need at least a record of 5-0-1 to tie the Habs.
On an even more pessimistic perspective: If we win in regulation on Tuesday, we'd have 87 points. Rangers would need to go 4-1-0 and hope we don't get a single point in the other 4 games while the Wings would need to go 3-1-0 in the other games too.

I gotta think 2 wins gets us in. That would require one of the other two teams to go 5-1, or the Islanders going 6-0. 6-0 would get Columbus to 89 points, but we'd likely win the tiebreaker.

MONTREAL CANADIENS: Go Habs Go!!
REMAINING GAMES:
Red Wings, Senators, Maple Leafs, Blackhawks, Hurricanes
MAXIMUM TOTAL POINTS: 95

and finally the competition....

DETROIT RED WINGS: Remaining 6 games are ALL against current playoff teams. Detroit plays Montreal on Tuesday and losing this game would almost effectively eliminate them.
REMAINING GAMES: Canadiens, Panthers, Lightning, Stars, Devils, Maple Leafs
MAXIMUM TOTAL POINTS: 91

NEW YORK RANGERS: Of their remaining 6 games, 4 are against playoff teams. They have one game against an eliminated team. They also have one game against the Islanders. This game will likely effectively eliminate either the Rangers or the Islanders.
REMAINING GAMES: Lightning, Flyers, Islanders, Hurricanes, Panthers, Lightning
MAXIMUM TOTAL POINTS: 91

NEW YORK ISLANDERS: The Isles only have 2 playoff teams in their final 6 games. However, they have two games against teams in the Eastern Conference Wildcard race in Columbus and New York. Whoever wins this games puts the losers in a real tight spot.
REMAINING GAMES: Predators, Rangers, Flyers, Devils, Capitals, Blue Jackets
MAXIMUM TOTAL POINTS: 90

COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS: Columbus will play half of their remaining games (3) against playoff teams. They also play the Islanders who are in the hunt for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot.
REMAINING GAMES: Sens, Sabres, Capitals, Capitals, Flyers, Islanders
MAXIMUM TOTAL POINTS: 89

Forgive the PST haha

5 GAMES LEFT
Gets a bit harder as TOR and OTT will want to stick it to us, CAR are a real challenge for our current roster, DET will be a tight match IMO, and then CHI is the 'easiest' of the bunch.

They can't possibly go 5-0 for this (right?) but I think they need to shoot for is to not lose in regulation. I could see us going 4-0-1 or 3-0-2 in this last stretch.

Can Ottawa clinch before Friday?

Have to give credit to Kent giving MSL a chance. The players have worked hard, but they aren’t where they are today without Marty behind the bench
MSL is developing, as the team is developing. Neither are perfect, but they have done exactly what everyone had hoped for, and we are in the mix, and maybe even stirring the mix.
