I actively cheered for the Leafs tonight. It was a first and strange and I hated it but I appreciate the help nonetheless.

Yeah, I don't care about rivalries right now. Cheered hard for the Leafs recently. Will cheer for Ottawa tomorrow. Then, once they've done their job, it's a pump and dump and we're back to seething hate.

The last super hyped Washington 1 seed vs 8th seed Habs was pretty good for us. I'm fine against them as I honestly think they are the easiest first round match up except the leafs. Canes always lose second round too so it is basically a bye to the conference finals if we knock out Washington.

I think pretty much the opposite. I think WSH is the worst fit for us.

We suck against big heavy team, that brings the play along the boards and when cycling is an essential of their offensive game with good forecheck. Exactly what WSH is. The last team we faced that played that game is St-Louis and they spanked us. We don’t fare well against those kind of team.

Toronto, because of their up tempo game and Florida, because they look tired and injured, would have benn my choice.

This is real now baby. We have 6 left , we go 3-3 that means the Rags need to go 5-1 to beat us and the other 2 teams 6-1.

This was a good win against the Flyers. We needed this game and we were losing, instead of collapsing the boys kept it close and then boom.
Yup, not enough games left unless the other teams goes on a roll and win all their remaining games or the Habs faceplant.

Which is a possibility, Habs kinda like going on 4-5 games losing streaks this season.

This is why this is an important experience. They arent playing games, they are playing for the post season. They could have said not our night against the Flyers but didnt. Every shift matters and they have to be mentally locked in, and so far they are showing that and are being led by their captain.

It's Game Day today!

12:30 PM
: Washington @ NYI - Ovechkin needs one more goal to pass Gretzky. He's actually never scored on Sorokin, who is the likely starter. Tickets are hot on stubhub for this game. Imagine he doesn't score & you just paid $1600 to watch a NYI game.

I expect the Islanders to be ready for the Caps. NYI are 7 points out with a game in hand. They're definitely out, but a Caps win would still help with an early play-off elimination.

3 PM: Stars @ Wild - Calgary only picked up a point against Vegas last night. That still moves Calgary to within 4 points of Minnesota with a game in hand & a game left to play against them. The Wild hold the RW tiebreaker.

A Wild loss to Stars today gives Calgary two games in hand. Calgary's next game is Monday @ SJS, which means Calgary can get this down to 2 pts by Monday night with a Wild loss today.

I'm not expecting Minnesota to beat a hot Dallas team (8-1-1), but even a point would be nice.

5 PM: Columbus @ Ottawa - It's a back-to-back for both teams. Columbus has terrible goaltending and absolutely sucks on the road. Senators have an excellent home record. Sens have won 2 consecutive games. Columbus has lost 2 consecutive games. Blue Jackets really need to get a goaltender next year. It's let them down.

It's a back-to-back for both teams. It's a weird start time considering Columbus played last night, while Ottawa played an afternoon game yesterday. Hoping for Ottawa to sweep this home & home series. That would put Columbus to rest.

5:30 PM: Florida @ Detroit - Panthers are injured and are only 3-6-1 in last 10. Tkachuk, Barkov & Ekblad are all out. I'm hoping Barkov plays in this one. Detroit is 6 points back with a game in hand and we play them on Tuesday. They're definitely not out.

Wings have a below average home record, while Florida is only an ok road team. This one could go either way. Hoping for a Florida win here obviously, but even keeping Detroit to one point is helpful.

It's a back-to-back for Florida, but not Detroit, who last played Friday.

7 PM: Montreal @ Nashville - Play Dobes & rest some guys for the Detroit game. This isn't a must win game, although winning would put us 6 points up on an idle NYR team. Considering it's a 3 games in 4 nights & this is a back-to-back, just roll 4 lines & 6 D. The Detroit game is a must win.

I just read that Protas is week to week after his foot being cut by a skate blade. Logan Thompson is hurting. With the Ovie goal chase getting the attention of the entire hockey world, maybe the Capitals go into the playoffs slightly distracted and take our Habs lightly (if we make it). Yes the Caps would be the heavy favourites but they may have some kinks in their armour and be vulnerable to a hard stinging punch to the nose.

The three teams in the Atlantic division have spent their entire regular season in cruise control only thinking about the playoffs and how to best be ready for the second season. I'd rather play the Caps.
