Just some food for thought guys............
4 day Christmas break, and they returned after, and played lights out.............

12 day 4 Nations Cup, we can hope they get the much needed rest, and come back out strong again.....
I don't think this group is done yet. MSL needs to go to the goalies, and tell them it's simple boys, win and you are in.........create some competition among them, and go from there.
Monty can't be sub .900 sv % on a go forward.

Wish we never had that winning streak now. All it did was f___ up our draft. Be drafting top of draft

Agree.

But alas, In the words of George Costanza, the best thing we can do now is “pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and throw ourselves right back down again.”

The 12 day break won't bring back Guhle. Hutson will probably be better, but it won't be enough to lift a team that lacks depth way too much to survive without one of their top piece.

Loverboy re-emphasized it best in the song "When it's Over" with their simple chorus.

"It's Over It's Over It's Over
It's Over It's Over It's Over"

I was thinking this also. Guhle won’t be back, and Heinemen likely still out but hoping the main cast will be recharged and motivated again.

The only other issue though is a lot of teams will be rested also. Agree though our goaltending needs to be better.

Our D-game needs to be better to help out our Gs.

Fans all thought that Dobes was amazing when he was first called up, but the team in front of him was playing a much better defensive game at the time.

Calling up Primeau, for example, despite him being 10-0 since being sent down to Laval, might not be any better if the D is as atrocious as it has been of late?

At this point, the only positivity to be had is that we will get a better pick than a 17th pick like we were maybe thinking we were going to get at some point before Christmas.

We might be lucky enough to be in a position to package our two first round picks in order to move up and select a potential, local, top-6 C like Caleb Desnoyers, adding to our chances of finding one within the system between him and Hage.

Agree the team D has been atrocious but goaltending hasn’t been good. I have PTSD so I don’t recall which losses in this month long skid is directly attributed to goaltending, though I think the Toronto game was one where Monty could take some significant blame.

I think it would be wise also for Dobes to go back to Laval for the next two weeks during the break if not the rest of the season. Primeau will get lit up with the big club but at this point, since I think Dobes is part of our medium term plan, I’d recall Primeau and let Dobes continue his development.

Anyhow, in the spirit of this thread, we got a lot of division rival games left, so who knows? However, I think the dream is over.
