To have a chance at the playoffs they’d most likely have to go 19-10-1 in their last 30 games. The way this team is playing I can’t see that. What Hughes does at the trade deadline will be interesting. This team sure is making it easy on him to trade pending UFA’s.

Nice to get a glimpse of what it's like to have a good team. There are a lot of bright spots. Porbably showed Heineman's utility, and having 4 solid lines.

Maybe having both Beck and Kapanen, along with Roy, in Laval next year will give us the depth we need to overcome injuries?

They haven’t quit … pro scouting has identified and game planned their success trends - this is part of the re-adjustment process

The effort and execution level just isn't there. Some are suggesting that the loss to the Leafs broke them but I don't know. The wheels have fallen off though.

It's hard to find any positivity right now concerning the playoffs. Losing 7-3 to the Leafs after being up 3-0 completely turned the energy of this team around and they have been losing ever since.

Demidov will drastically change this team. Our first game breaking offensive talent in decades.

Sucks that we have to do this again but I'm really not bullish on them getting back in the playoffs picture especially without Guhle. Maybe a bump after the 4 nation break but the team is just gassed and there's way too many passengers... but it's OK, we all know the real fun begin next season with our future russian superstar

It was a nice run and the team can learn from it. They earned their shot and then completely dashed their own chances. We should use the rest of the season to evaluate our players and really see what holes we need to fill in the offseason.

Even during our torrid stretch, we weren't gonna flip a switch from bottom 5 team in the league to top 5 team in the league; but it did give us a glimpse of what this team could look like when everything is clicking.

Just can't sustain the loss of Guhle or Heineman, and the goaltending from Montembeault reverting to a ~.900 state.

I'm not expecting much of anything to change until maybe after the break.
We are on pace for a modest increase in GF 241 vs 236 last season. I'd like to see this hit 250 if possible.
As far as GA we are on pace to give up about 277 vs 289 last season it would be nice to get this down to 265

The team needs a reset and a new set of goals I doubt we get the flat differential I was hoping for which is the first step to becoming a playoff team. Move the UFA's play the kids and figure out what can be done about the gaping hole at 2C and 1RD for next season.

If we are lucky, we will be able to fill one of the 2C or top 4RD holes through trades or UFA. We all know how difficult that is to find in trades or UFA.

This team could have used a Dubois and he was available for cheap too! Dubois behind Suzuki is a good fit IMO. But no, we put our faith in Dach and we thought Dubois sucked bad. I said it over and over again, Dubois can play and the Kings were the dumb ones trading big assets for him, giving him a big contract, and then playing him 3C. Idiots and many fans were gullible to it too!

Imagine where we would be if we added both Dubois and Laine. Dach could be their RW and Newhook is on the 3rd line where he should be.
