The Sens lost is not good, that means the Rangers won and they are 1 win away from a WC now. In a race, the horses in front of you aren't the ones who are dangerous to your position, it's the one behind you that are.

It's been a long time since the city's buzzing about the Habs.

I'm sitting in a McDonalds on the West Island, listening to a table of middle-age & older men furiously debate the team's playoff chances. It's crazy and wonderful! I came thisclose to walking over and giving the old fat dude an infraction for insulting the other guy.

Plus if they end up missing out on the playoffs this season I can guarantee the whole locker room will be pissed that they missed out due to an awful start to the season. Give them a full offseason to stew in that anger and hopefully they come into next season shot out of a cannon.

Starting the season like that is how the Habs have collapsed by mid-December for over a decade or two. Just running out of energy after half a season.
