GDT: PLAYOFFS: Canes game in Jersey? What exit?

We’re in the playoffs but part of me is already in July dreaming about the offseason. Tulsky will eliminate the dead weight and unleash his full power, and it will be glorious.

Devils played quite well and of course were desperate. We didn't. The good news is we still managed to get to double OT doing that. Be nice if we return the favor of the last couple games and come out dictating things on Sunday. Freddie still an easy start next game in my mind.

Completely outplayed in overtime. NJ had guys with as much ice time as we had so I’m not completely buying the dead legs excuse.

Just checked, yep, it’s 6 in a row.

G1/G2 vs FLA in 2023, G3 vs NYI, G2/G3 vs NYR in 2024 and tonight.

Well thank God our front office ran it back this year and toyed with Guentzel. I would hate to see how we would play with playmakers.

We don't have a top end playmaker. We shouldn't be surprised teams just wear us down in OT

Devils had 4 more hits then Carolina wouldn’t say much more physical

Uncle Mike's History Corner: The Whalers only played one double OT ever (game 7 vs MTL in 1992). It was the final playoff game in Whalers history and the only time the Whalers played in May.

If Rod won’t scratch ghost you gotta consider going 7 D and scratching both Carrier and Roslo for Jank and Nikishin. Those 2 guys were useless man

Devils top guys played 5 minutes more then aho Jarvis. 25 minutes for aho isn’t enough

The core has been in this same exact spot before. 5 times in fact. They’re 2-3 in road Game 4s up 2-1 in this era, winning the most recent 2.

And janky instead of Roslovic…. Hall had a rough rough night…. KK was very good but just couldn’t get anything past markstrom…. Other than the Power plays, the top line also wasn’t scaring anyone even against an injured overworked 5 remaining D…. Gotta take care of business and we just didn’t quite have it tonight…. Make some tweaks and come back home up 3 games to 1…

I mean I wouldn't say any of Ghost, Orlov and Walker had a particularly good game tonight. Ghost was dreadful, Orlov was rough and Walker was a guy noticably fighting it.

We absolutely have to play Nikishin the next game. Maybe slot in Morrow as well. NJ is going to be feeling it playing 5D that long tonight, if we take it to them early on Sunday that game could get ugly

Aho had 2 good shifts but I still wouldnt say he had a good game. The goal and assist are awesome but outside of those 2 plays we struggled when that line was on the ice tonight.

Freddie was incredible and PK scares me but I do wonder if we make the switch coming off a late night double OT going into an afternoon game

It's f***ing nuts how bad this team is at faceoffs with Brindy as head coach. You'd think if there was anything he would be able to help us excel at, it would be faceoffs

That is an absolutely crazy bit of trivia. 18 seasons in the NHL and one game played in the month of May.

(they never played a May game in 7 WHA seasons either, but that’s because nobody else did either)

I mean hell at this point I think Aho is deferring to Jarvis to drive play on that line. I don't think he has the stones to be an alpha dog leader of this team

Interesting fact I heard on nhl radio today. They stared that in order to win the cup the ultimate champion had one series go only 4 or 5 games. Important for rest. This series is almost already 4 games.
