Playoff Ullmark

I don't understand why the focus on Ullmark. I thought he's made some phenomenal saves and very clearly facing high danger shots consistently.

The areas for the Sens that concern me as a fan are:

1. Top 6's ability to generate consistent high danger chances
2. Bottom 4 D not being good enough
3. Faceoffs

PK.

Which ones? Ekman-Larsson having the whole slot for himself? Marner getting a breakaway from the red-line? Highmore deflecting the puck with his glove? Any of the three PP goals where the Senators left Leafs player open?

Anyone who blames this series on Ullmark is a complete and utter fool.

Yeah fair enough

It really is irrelevant how well Ottawa is playing or not, if your career playoffs stat line looks like this, you can be called a choker.

-10.6 goals saved above average over 13 games.
33% quality start percentage

There's a reason Boston got rid of him, regardless of how well he played in the RS. Anytime April came around he was a catastrophe.

I agree that he's a bad playoff goalie, but in fairness to his numbers in context, he was badly injured in 2023 and idiot Monty kept him in there to give up 6 goals a night through game 6.

Is Ullmark the worst playoff goalie in relation to his regular season success in NHL history? Hellebuyck has never won a series but he hasn't been a complete mess all the time (though last night was bad). Luongo had plenty of series wins before collapsing. Guys like Lalime, Cloutier, and Cechmanek who were notoriously bad in the playoffs back in the day weren't as good in the regular season as Ullmark is.

He's been very bad the past 3 years but before that he's had solid playoffs. Conference finals in 2018 with a .922, was pretty good in 21 even while getting swept vs Montreal in the 2nd round.

As for Ullmark, don't have a goalie comparable off the top of my head, best example of him is being the goalie version of Tomas Tatar. Never seen a guy go from stud to benched as quick as him, multiple years in a row.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have scored more than 2 goals just 4 times in their last 17 playoff games

All 4 times have been against Linus Ullmark
