I domt think Ullmark was bad in Game 2 or Game 3. It's the team in front of him that's not doing him any good on the Toronto goals
Actually, the Panthers buried that team.
Buried. Haven’t been the same since. What buried Boston was Bergeron suffering a disc injury last RS game of the year that forced him to retire.
Panthers tied G7 last minute and then won OT. There was no burying of anyone that series.
Buried. Haven’t been the same since.
Their top two centers aging out and management doing nothing to replace them for over a decade had more to do with their downfall then the Cats but building a team last offseason strictly to play you guys in the playoffs certainly backfired as it usually does when teams build that way.Buried. Haven’t been the same since.
Imaginary Habs fans*Sens fans arguing with Habs fans over which team is worse.
Please, do continue.![]()
The powerplay has been on absolute fire since about Feb, I don't know the exact percent but it was something like 34% or so from Feb to end of regular season.I was about to say. While Ullmark hasn't looked good, he's hardly the only problem. The OT winner last night was off yet another Leafs faceoff win in the offensive zone. On the whole, Toronto had, what, 32 faceoff wins to 19? At some point you need to win the draw.
And it wasn't like the Leafs powerplay was rocking. Pretty sure it was near the bottom of league over the last month or so. Naturally, that was always going to bounce back, but it isn't just Ullmark playing bad that put the Sens down 0-3
Can’t blame him much on the Matthews goal, other than hoping he tracks behind his head better. Reality is very few players in the entire league could pull off the pass Marner did combined with the speed. Similar to the Four Nations winning goal. McDavid gets the kudos but it was 90% Marner serving it on a platter. Go back and look at what he did in slow motion to get an idea of his skill level.Did Ullmark lose gm3? I think Matthews goal was kind of bad but Stolarz reciprocated on Tkachuk goal
You won’t hear much about Stolarz mainly because seeing him get beat on a clean shot is actually remarkable. Literally when it happened I was trying to remember the last time he’s been beaten on a clean shot he sees.Stolarz allowed a weak shot from Tkachuk on the rush, but since he won nobody's talking about that.
Both goalies have been good enough, I don't think there is a big difference in net in that serie.
Reminds me a bit of the Freddy Andersen days. Sure, he was never that bad and he would have some really good games even, but he could never seem to make that extra save the other guy could, and always let in one back breaker.Ullmark hasn't been terrible in G2 or G3, but as trite as it sounds, Stolarz stopped the last shot he saw and Ullmark didn't. And you acquired and paid Ullmark to do so.
This is it for me. He was bad in game 1. But games 2 and 3 he was fine.In Game 1 Ullmark was bad. Games 2 and 3 I thought he was fine. You could tell in his movement he was more confident and steady.
3 goals in the last two games were deflections or bounces that he really had no chance at, and the two OT goals were seeing-eye shots that he was completely screened on for both.
If I were a Sens fan would I be frustrated with his play and his poor playoff stats after 3 games? Absolutely. As a fan of the opposition, he hasn't been bad, but then again he also hasn't worried me that he'd be the difference in the series had he been at the top of his level of play.
Which ones? Ekman-Larsson having the whole slot for himself? Marner getting a breakaway from the red-line? Highmore deflecting the puck with his glove? Any of the three PP goals where the Senators left Leafs player open?Game 1 had some softies
The Sens have way more issues than Ullmark in the playoffs. He's been fine. It's the undisciplined play that has really killed them this series.
Signed for half of Ullmark’s salary? The guy that won a Cup and signed for half of Ullmark’s salary?
The f*** are you guys complaining about?
It shouldn't be close honestly but it is.
Look at the projection before the season started, MTL was predicted to finish bottom 5 again this year while Ottawa near a playoff spot.
MTL the youngest team in the playoff are facing the no1 team in the East and look better then Ottawa facing the no2 team.
And Carolina imo.TBF I think the only team in the east that can actually challenge the Leafs this year is the Panthers
