D'oh!
Giguere's 2003 playoff run was one for the ages, and he earned every bit of that Conn Smythe trophy that year. He undoubtedly stole the West Final from Minnesota by only giving up 1 goal in a 4-game sweep.
Colin Campbell 2011Tim Thomas 2011.
They really didn't.Game 7 Aves laid an egg. I remember it was 3-0 I think, and Cujo wasn't particularly tested.
I recall game 6 the Oilers won handily too.
Jose Theodore against the Bruins in especially 2002, but also 2004.We always see a goaltender maybe steal a game or two in a playoff series but are there any recent examples of a goaltender being the sole reason their team won?
Halak 2010?
This Shesterkin?Shesterkin in 2022.
The Penguins had a +11 xG differential over the Rangers.

Halak 2010?
the one series he was good in . ha!Hellebuyck 2021.
Yes he did.....then stole one from Pens right afterHalak against the Caps is the one I remember most. Absolutely stole that series for MTL.
crazyRask vs the Penguins in '13 was insane.

Crazy part too is he got almost bombarded out of the series too from Games 1-4. And Gallant cost them Game 3 with the pull with Georgiev conceding the weak Danton Heinen GWG. Rangers win game 3 after that pull and I'm almost positive he goes with Georgiev the rest of the series.
As for the OP, yeah there's not much besides Halak in 2010.
Might feel recent to us oldsters, but 30 years is a pretty long time. Longer than half of HF has been aliveGiguere seems like the only real answer for this. Not sure that’s recent tho
Pretty similar to Oettingers losing effort from 21-22. When he faced 44 shots per game and finished with a .955 sv% in 7 games, but in this case they lost in 7 games. .949 sv% in those 4 losses.Mike Smith vs the Blackhawks in 2012

I was going to mention this one as well. Only 2 goals scored on him the entire series. Really made you believe the Bruins were winning the cup that year.Rask vs the Penguins in '13 was insane.

Probably would have if Rask didn't shit his pants at the end of game 6.I was going to mention this one as well. Only 2 goals scored on him the entire series. Really made you believe the Bruins were winning the cup that year.
