GDT: Playoff round - February 20 - USA vs Slovakia

I was thinking the same thing. The US needs more games together to improve. Playing an extra game could help them. It will be an uphill battle against the Czechs. Erat and those other guys know how to play. The US has one offensive line and one set of penalty killers. They are thin.

See. I think we see it right. They are starting to actually play good hockey now. Watch out...Czechs are going to have their hands full!

The combined league would be dead just as Slovak league is. So what Slovaks would be underrepresented in hockey. We would level it out be being over represented in football where we are better than Czechs now. And we have players on this team who are not even Slovak. Nagy is not, he’s less slovak than American Paul stastny. And that event leading to penalties is bs, it’s just like our WC qualifying. Our team has no drive already. If we added Czechs it would give us some hope of winning

I feel that the Czechs have a style of hockey, like Brazil does in soccer. That helps them. They have fast skaters and they play the body pretty well. They stick handle and pass well, like the Russians. The US is such a large country that we don't really have an American style for the players to learn and be on the same page. We don't control the puck.

Ohio too. My Aunt Mary's maiden name was Huda. Strangely, to me, the Slovaks pal around with the Hungarians over here.

im in jersey. they just won the wrong game. when it comes down to it.... 1-1. slovakia shouldnt hang their heads. the us just came out flying today. it happens.
 
Why is not pulling the goalie on a delayed penalty a "smart" play? You're so worried about an errant pass going in your own net? You've got a much better chance of running the clock when you have an extra guy to play keep away with!
