I was wrong. Isles helped us tonight beating Bruins in regulation. Sharks forced Habs to take an overtime win. Pens pushing Flyers towards OT right now.

And while it’s not our playoff race, Wild continue to struggle now down 2-0 to Utah. Avs might catch them and push them to Wild Card. They are likely secure for the playoffs but our draft pick for Jiricek is not nearly as late seeming as it was four months ago.

We actually have some separation now, 4 point lead on both Bruins and Senators, although they have a game in hand

On the bright side, the Wild continue to slip down the standings and their 1st round pick has gone from the 4th lowest pick to the 8th lowest pick and there is a decent chance they continue to side down the standings and the Jiricek 1st round pick may becomes quality pick/asset to use.

At the time of the trade, it was the 31st pick. Now it's the 23rd pick. Using a draft value chart, that's about the value of the 10-15th pick in the 3rd round.

No, not getting much help tonight but there is a lot of time left in the Utah game so I am not writing that one off yet.

While the NJD won Carolina lost so not only are the CBJ 4 points out of 3rd place, we are also 4 points out of 2nd place in the Metro. Carolina is struggling too. The Rantanan trade is looking like a failure and the CBJ version of Jack Roslovic has returned.

So yep, other than our own win last night...other games did not work for us. Still much scoreboard watching for Sunday...

Bruins @ Wild: Let's go Wild. While I am not a Wild fan and looks like Jiricek got a call up, a Bruins loss would be nice for us. The Bruins did play last night in Pittsburgh and had to travel to MN for an afternoon game. So fingers crossed this works to our advantage.

Flames @ Canes: Let's go Flames. I don't have high hopes for this game. Flames are up and down like a toilet seat and right now they are down having lost two in a row and were shout in Florida yesterday.

Preds @ Rangers: Let's Go Preds. This is another matchup I don't have high hopes for. Preds are 3-7 in their last ten, gave up seven yesterday on Long Island and have to come back the next day against the Rangers. Hoping for a surprise here.

Devils @ Knights: Let's go Knights. I like our chances here, Devils played last night in Utah and Knights are the Knights...first in Pacific. And this is the fourth of five road games in a row for NJ.

Of all those, the Devils losing would be best, IMO. They would be just 4 points back with 2 games in hand. The 3rd spot in the division is there to be taken. The Jackets are the only team with more than 10 points in their last 10 games, nobody wants this as badly.

If the Jackets do make the playoffs with the upcoming murderer's row schedule they have. They will have deserved that spot. It's going to be rough for them.
