Sucks that Ottawa won but Columbus has 3 games in hand on NJ. Seven points back but win 2 of the 3 and they're in striking distance to them.

Like ThirdPeriodTurtle said, at least it was a a regulation game. The Devils are 2-5-3 in their last ten, maybe I wrote off our chances of catching them too soon. We have to continue to take care of our business. Like AP said in his Sunday Gathering, once this long road trip ends we play 16 of the final 28 at home.

That Rangers vs Habs game did not go well for us. Probably the worst possible outcome. I am starting to hate Laine the player.

Honestly, that line We have to continue to take care of our business is the whole truth and nothing but the truth in this thread. We're not gonna get help from other teams, it's way too early and there's too many teams in the race. One falls a bit, another catches up a bit. Gotta try to keep up with the .500 and then we have a chance. I don't dare to dream that the Habs, Sens or Rangers drop off before April - if we're still in it by April, we're going to have to fight tooth and nail for that last spot/spots. But I'm all for that, let's go!

Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day:

The day started bad for us, Bruins beat Sharks (though not a shocker)
Not much else for us to watch except wake up tomorrow morning for results of Pens @ Kings
And of course our game. Really kinda need two points tonight.

Looks like the Rangers have remembered that they were the President's Trophy winner's last year. By far the most talented team in the wildcard race. OTT, Habs and Boston all in front of us as well. If we can't close out the month strong it looks like our window to compete for the final playoff spot is gonna shut before this can even become a hard decision for GMDW. I just hope that the team doesn't give up on what has been a remarkable year once they see the white flag. Also, I hope this is actually a step forward rather than a one year overperformance in memory of 13.

Even if this next 2 week stretch of tough road games ends the fun of the chase, it was still awesome to be in it at the turn of the calendar.
