Not sure what people are looking for to successfully tank.
*More giveaways
*Even poorer goaltending by Swayman
* Blowing more leads
*Not trying

I think we're going to see a better effort, by everyone.
Coyle and Frederic are gone. My wish list was fulfilled.

Never tank. It's a bad idea. Just ask Buffalo.

Play the new guys though and see what you have. Experiment and plan ahead. I see the possibility of a fairly quick turn around.

Tank, in so much as the roster you ice and all the decisions around lines, TOI, tactics, roles etc. should be geared towards next year and the future more generally rather than trying to win now. Play the kids, experiment, try different things, see what works and what doesn't, let the guys play with some freedom, allow room for mistakes and learning.

By all the means the players themselves should go hard, and if they win a few games, well and good. You never want to encourage bad habits, and you need to keep the culture strong. But the focus on the part of the coaches and management needs to be looking further ahead.

I have zero interest in the playoffs as regards the Bruins. Zero. If by some miracle they actually made it, congrats to them and of course I'd watch and cheer them on, but I see nothing to be gained by them being there. This franchise desperately needs an injection of quality young talent and I'd much rather they're either picking in the draft as high as possible, or they're turning their position to advantage by some other means. That's much more important than a little postseason sugar rush.

If the Bruins beat out the other teams in the playoff race with Koepke, Lettieri, Khusnutdinov, Lauko, and the ghost of Elias Lindholm in their middle 6, then that will say a lot about those other teams.

This is not great draft(2026 is the next biggy), play to win. See what you have in your own cupboard going into next season.
Merk and Lysell have to play, warts and all. I'd also play DiPietro to see if he is NHL ready and move Korpi in the summer, buy him out, or plan on keeping him

I just want to see them play hard and make it fun. Whatever happens, happens. If these past two games are any indicator, this team still has a lot of pride in that dressing room and just enough juice left to make some teams sweat.

Posted in the GDT but think it’s relevant here:

t's really crazy what one win like that can do to a sports fan.

I was fully on team tank, but after that game.. I'm ready for whatever happens. Who knows, maybe Zellers and Minten is enough of a youth influx to the pool to produce some good, young blood.

They got cap space and a boat load of picks if they want to swing big in a trade this summer. At this point, Misa or Hagens feels unrealistic so just let the chips fall where they may. IMO those two were the only ones in this draft that would change the team as soon as next year. They could still get a good player around 10.
