Jets over Blues in 4 - Hellebyuck finally shows up and has a good series.

Vegas over wild in 6 - Wild are healthy and start to gel but Vegas is too experienced and closes it out

Oilers over Kings in 6 - Kuemper steals one they squeak one out in OT like they always do.

Colorado over Dallas in 5 - Stars are too banged up to compete with the avs this year who are getting a huge emotional boost from Landeskog.

In the east

Montreal over the caps in 7 - Caps are this years overachievers and Thompson insane run is over. They haven’t actually played well in over a month. Habs are going to shock the hockey world and beat them.

Ottawa over Toronto in 6 - Because Leafs

Carolina over New Jersey in 5 - don’t think this one will be close. Jersey is missing Hughes and Carolina is too well structured.

Tampa over Florida in 7 - this one is going 7 either way and I keep flip flopping on who will win. I give Tampa the edge for health.

Realistically the Leafs take it in 6 or less because even the biggest Leafs hater has to grudgingly concede they appear primed and ready for a deep run.
But for the utter hilarity? Sens in game 7 overtime.

Panthers in 7
Caps vs Habs
Habs in 6 after Washington takes a 2-0 series lead would be very Caps

A seesaw 7-game war of attrition that weakens the victor going into round 2. I’ll say Avs in 7.

I predict next to nobody will care about the Canes-Devils series and that the average Canadian wouldn't care if either club dropped off the Earth. Somebody will win the series. nobody cares who. I'll say 7 games of mind numbing boredom. I won't watch any of it.

Florida cup series might be entertaining but what a Bettman farce. I dont' care enough to venture prediction. There should be lots of goals and stupid and weird goal celebrations. I have a learned dislike for both clubs so I can't escape bias I wish both could lose series. Better for the Oilers if Tampa Wins.

Jets finally find their airport. some postseason offense and maybe beat the Blues.

Vegas beats Minny. No easier prediction imo. Could be as little as 5 games.

Leafs vs Sens. Pound each other silly. We're all cheering for traction and body suits in this series. Who cares who wins. Winner gets the Ontario cup and nothing else. Both would lose in 2nd round and if it was even possible both would exit first round.

Caps vs Habs is interestingly hard to predict. I don't really understand the Habs club. Awful whenever I watch. Don't see a lot of scoring in that lineup. But the Caps its hard to say. Seem to have put a lot into getting OV his alltime goals party. They probably wake up and win in 6.

AV's probably take series if only because of Stars injuries. But its a toss up really. Whoever takes it will win the next round too. Either club could have a deep run if they get out of first round. Its ridiculous really that the clubs are facing each other first round.

Oilers, I've stated a refusal to make a prediction. I'll stick to that. A team with McDrai should be able to pull it out. But no predictions as such.
