Playoff Lineup

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

LA is one point back. Minnesota is tied with the Oilers.

If the Flames win tonight they will be 6 points back.

If the Oilers aren't careful they will end up in that last wildcard spot or worse.

Henrique McDavid Hyman
Frederic Drai. SAVOIE
Kane. Nuge. Perry
JANMARK PHILP ARVI

JONES SKINNER. BROWN. PODZ. KAPANEN

Ekholm. Bouch
Nurse Walman
Kulak. KLINGBERG
EMBERSON STECHER

If you’re in CAPS you gotta earn your spot on a nightly basis. I realize it’s pretty unlikely that Philp and Savoie are both in lineup but I’d love to see if Philp can pk at this level. More options to rugged things up without being super slow. IT would be nice to see this team a little bigger and harder on the forecheck. Frederic should bring that and if we are lucky Kane too.

Knobs already threw in the towel for line combinations. Expect Mcdavid and Draisaitl on the same line and Janmark-Rico-Brown. The rest of the lineup will be put in a blender during our first round elimination.

Honestly our Wingers are so bad and we are struggling to score 2 goals a game why not load up Mcdrai and tell the other lines to play smart sound hockey.

If Mcdrai don't carry us we are not going anywhere and int doesn't seem like we can find any line combos that work when we split them

RNH - McDavid - Hyman
Kane - Draisaitl - Arvidsson
Frederic - Henrique - Brown
Skinner - Philp - Perry
Podkolzin - Janmark - Jones

Ekholm - Bouchard
Nurse - Walman
Kulak - Klingberg

Here is my issue. Nuge, Mcdavid, Hyman just flat out doesn't work.

My other issue is that we have under 20 games left and we don't have ANY line combos figured out..........

Not looking good for the Oilers. We can't score

In all seriousness why is this so bad?

Drai Mcdavid Hyman (when we put them together 5 on 5 they tilt the ice)
Podklozin Nuge Arvy
Kane Henrique Frederic
Janmark, Brown, Kapanen, Perry, Jones, etc (just rotate and play whoever is going. Move someone up to hold above guys accontable)

Why is this so bad? Having Nuge centre line 2 is not that large of a drop off that we shouldn't let Mcdrai tilt the ice. Doing this fixes how bad the Mcdavid line has been this year and maybe the rest of the team would stop deffering, dig in and play simpler harder hockey.

Right now our offence is a blackhole (we look like the Islanders)

This is Hail Mary stuff but if support scoring doesn't improve they may need to try to win with the Nuclear Option.

I'd actually consider rolling the super elites with Savoie as a skill option who can skate, think and make plays at a high level. Once good at in-game adjustments, Knoblauch could still move the small skill rookie within game, manage minutes, to mitigate match up issues.

I'd roll Nugent Hopkins at 2C with big, heavy wingers to leverage his innate distributor tendencies and game strength. Frederic can support face-offs. Possibly swap Nuge and Henrique if Nuge is not getting it done.

Line 3 would feature platoon options trying to extend scoring to a top nine attack. Skinner if going and Arvidsson and Perry potentially platooning.

Line 4 is a PK, defensive pair with Kane onboarding and X-Factor to move up lineup if healthy and productive. That would slip Podkolzen into a better energy role on Line 4. Kane could prospectively move as high as line 2 winger complementing distributor first player Nugent Hopkins.

On defense, I think there's been slippage in Emberson's game and, if healthy, I could see veteran Klingberg maybe getting a platoon lead with Kulak.

Draisaitl - McDavid - Savoie
Frederic - Nugent Hopkins - Hyman
Skinner (Podkolzen) - Henrique - Arvidsson (Perry)
Kane - Janmark - Brown

Ekholm - Bouchard
Nurse - Walman
Kulak - Klingberg (Emberson)

Spare Stuff:
Podkolzen, Jones, Kapanen Ryan
Stetcher

Fwds is kinda just a stab. Knob has done nothing to build chemistry between guys, and we will be throwing 2 top9 guys into the mix by then, so that's another wrench in things. I liked Philp, and feel like the team probably told him to work on faceoffs and maybe that's part of what they told Ryan when he went down, to help him there.

I want Nurse-Bouch paired up. Bouchards gaffs could be covered by a better skating D than Ekholm, who could use a minute reduction. Walman plays his offside, but gets a very reliable partner which should help compared to the more erratic Nurse. Nurse gets a partner who can move the puck very well, and 90% of the time is good defensively. That pair has very good numbers together this season, in limited time.
