I also feel like something with movie gifs is appropriate. That’s been our board thing all year. We could have it be like a movie trailer where other characters play our roster players:

I like the rent-free ideas. We can have different places where Tom Wilson may live, then pan to [sarcastically] MSG. I’ll also toss in a fake Office reference because I just thought of it, but that can be scrapped.

Frame 1 (title card): Where does Tom Wilson live rent free?
Frame 2: Is it A, the White House?
Frame 2: Is it B, Capital One Arena?
Frame 3: Is it C, MSG?
Frame 4: Is it D, toothbrush?

This sounds great. First thing that came to mind is the scene from Step Brothers where Will Ferrell is burying John C. Reilly. Reilly is the pre-deadline Rangers and Ferrell is the post deadline Rangers. Maybe Reilly is McKegg and Ferrell is Copp?

Maybe could do one with End Game where Igor is Captain America and the deadline additions come in as the "Cap, on your left".

Or you have the first Avengers scene where you have all the heroes hit the camera at the same time and have their top guns be all the heroes. Kreider/Hulk (especially since he does that yell lol), Strome/Hawkeye (cause everyone thinks he's useless), Panarin/Iron Man (cause he's got the money), Fox/Captain America (obvious reasons), Zibanejad/Thor (also obvious). Someone can be Black Widow, idk who, but could be anyone, maybe that should be Panarin since she has her own issues with someone in power in that part of the world. Make Igor Iron Man then.

If DC is more your flavor for heroes, could go Flash/Kredier, Aquaman/Mika, Lindgren/Cyborg (speaks for itself), could pick for Superman and Batman.

I wonder if Caps fans are laughing this season about Tom Wilson "breaking the Rangers".

I threw a tongue-in-cheek comment on a main board thread about this and according to one Caps fan apparently the only by-product of the Wilson ownership is obtaining Reaves. The fact Drury bolstered this team and did more at the TDL, I'm sure most Caps fans will try to discredit how Wilson 'broke' or 'tom owns the rangers' because they wanted us to continue to be mid-lower tiered team and still pushed around.

On topic: I do laugh at the thought of Tom Wilson themed playoff avatars. lol

Plus those are just superhero movies. We’ve used a LOT of movies for our GDTs this year. Infinite possibilities, really. I’d love something with Malkin along the lines of Step Bros “I’m not calling him dad. Not even if there’s a fire” and then Igor taunting the Pens after the shutout. Or Captain Laf Sparrow. That has to be the worst first overall pick I’ve ever heard of. But you have heard of me.

For the caption on the avatar, maybe change in-game phrases from games that you can easily substitute in your favourite current ranger?

I’d prefer to not have it Jeopardy style for two reasons.

1. I think people would not only want custom answers, but also fake Jeopardy contestants. This will make it more cumbersome on the person actually doing the photoshop.

2. I wanted to throw in “toothbrush” as an option for my avatar as a reference to The Office, where it they were doing Slumdunder Mifflinaire.

Basically turn around annoying things said about the Rangers on the mains, confusing current players with NHL legends, or general glow-ups. Multiple ways you can go with that.

We can recast our favorite players as our favorite actresses and dub the entire thing the Jessica Alba edition. We can even include the Sam Rosen “excuse me” into the meme… “that’s Mika Zibanejad! Excuse me, Margot Zibanejad!”
