Nikita Kucherov had 24 points in 17 games, then was called up. Drouin scored 3 points in 2 games on a conditioning stint at the beginning of the season, then was called up.

Jared Boll made it straight to the NHL after winning the OHL championship in 2007.

To be eligible to play in the AHL in any season, any player from the CHL has to turn 20 by December 31st, of that season.

One exception: Players who have signed an ELC may play in the AHL once their junior season is over.

So, setting aside the exception, any ELC player is eligible to play in the NHL while being ineligible to play in the AHL.
