I was looking at Jeff Skinner and if my math is correct he needs 4,4m deal to make more money than he did earlier.

Old contract was 3 years - 10m+7m+5m= 22m total.
Buyout is 2,44m x 6 = 14,64m
New contract is 3 m = 17,64m

I think that is possible if we has a great season and he gets to play with McDavid. Skinner scores 40 and he gets 6m for 3 years easy.

Two other players come to my mind.

Ryan Suter -
Old contract was 4 years - 6m+2m+1m+1= 10m total.

Buyout is 0,833m x 8 = 6,66m
New contract was paid 2m+4m+4,3m=10,3m
New buyout (!) is 1,433
Total is 10,3+1,433 = 11,73m

Alex Wennberg
Old contract was 3 years - 5,35+5,35+5,35=16,05m

Buyout was 891,67x6 = 5,35m
First new contract 2,25m
Second new contract 3,5+5m = 8,5m
Total = 16,1m

And he just signed a new 2 year deal 5m per year!

Any other players like this? I think it is fashinating how players bounce back after buyout and it isnt always a bad deal moneywise.
