Players who have played on multiple moved teams?

Just curious. How many players have been played through multiple franchise moves?

Going from memory, I think these are all the franchise moves since expansion

KC Scouts->Colorado Rockies->New Jersey Devils
Atlanta Flames->Calgary Flames
Quebec Nordiques->Colorado Avalanche
Winnipeg Jets->Phoenix Coyotes
Hartford Whalers->Carolina Hurricanes
Atlanta Thrashers->Winnipeg Jets
Minnesota North Stars->Dallas Stars
California Golden Seals->Cleveland Barons-(merged)->Minnesota North Stars-(expanded)->San Jose Sharks

I'm probably missing one or two, so please feel free to add to this list.

I know that Gilles Meloche came in with California, went to Cleveland, and then to Minnesota without playing anywhere else in between.

Curtis Leschyshyn played for Quebec and went to Colorado. From there he ended up in Hartford for their final year, and moved to Carolina.
 
Theoren Fleury was traded from Calgary to Colorado for Chris Drury (others were involved). He's probably the best player to play for multiple relocated teams that are still in the league (at least that I can think of).

Derek Morris was involved in the Fleury trade and also played for Phoenix.

Sean Burke played for the Devils, Hurricanes (he was the starter when they moved), and Coyotes.

Greg Adams played for New Jersey, Dallas, and Phoenix.

Steve Chiasson played for Calgary and Carolina.

Phil Housley played for Calgary and New Jersey.

And I haven't even included San Jose (IMHO I agree, they are an extension of the Seals, but officially they are expansion) or playing on any teams pre-relocation (such as Brendan Shanahan NJD/HFD or Phil Housley adding Winnipeg to his list).

That's like saying "Alex Delvecchio started his career in Detroit, played a bunch of years for Detroit, and then retired as a Detroit player, without playing anywhere in between."

It's all the same team. Yes, Minnesota was a merger. But instead of leaving his team to go to a new one, he stayed with it.

Another example would be Colorado>KC>New Jersey. I'm sure there's someone who followed that path.
 
Don Lever and Bob MacMillan both went from Atlanta to Calgary, then from Colorado to New Jersey. They were not involved in trades at the same time either.

If I am understand the question correctly (Probably not, its almost 4 in the morning) the question is how many players were part of an organization that moved on more than one occasion.
Dennis Maruk comes to mind, Seals to Barons to Northstars, 2 moves.

Carl Voss going way back was a member of the Maroons, the Original Senators and the St. Louis Eagles during their final season.

Lots of players have played parts of their career with teams that folded and or moved, especially pre world war II, and a lot of players played on the Whalers, Nordiques, Jets and North Stars era but I cannot find anyone who was with more than one at the time of the move.
 
Carl Voss had an interesting career. He went in to the Hall of fame in 1974 in the builder category, as a player in the 1930s he was a talented centre who moved around a lot.
After a cup of coffee with the Leafs in 1927 and again in 1929, he went on to play for the Buffalo Bisons for three years. He got his chance in the NHL with the Rangers in 1932-33 and after ten games was traded to the Red Wings, where he had a solid season, winning rookie of the year.
You would figure this would make him part of their long term plans, but after only eight games the next season he was dealt to the Ottawa Senators. He stayed with the team when they moved to St. Louis the following season for the one season of the Eagles.
He was claimed by the Wings in the dispersal draft before the 1935-36 season, but the next day they must have felt better of it, and they traded him to the New York Americans.
After one season in New York, he was dealt to the Maroons, where he played during 1937-38. 3 games in to the following season he was dealt to the Black hawks where he played the rest of that season. He blew out his knee in training camp and retired the next fall.
He played all or part of eight seasons in the nhl with eight teams, not counting his one day as a Wing before they thought better of it after the dispersal draft. Not sure if he was a jerk or just had uncontrollable halitosis but even in an era when players moved around a bit he didn't let moss grow over his skates. Some reference books list him as being with nine teams, as the 1927 Toronto team was known as the St. Pats before switching over to the Maple leafs later that year.
He hung around the game forever as a referee at different levels, then given the job of being in charge of on ice officials in the NHL for fifteen years beginning in 1950.
So he was a member of the:
Final St pats team.
Final original Senators club.
The only season of the St. Louis Eagles.
Part of the final season of the Montreal Maroons.

Wilf Paiement played for KC and was on the team when it moved to Colorado, he later played with Quebec. Would Modano count as a North Star to Stars? Ron Francis was a Whaler and a Cane, but he was a Penguin in between.
 
If we're looking at players who played on teams that ended up moving, Jim McKenzie played for the Hartford Whalers and the Winnipeg Jets (and if the Coyotes move, you could include them as well).
 
One more to add since I can't edit posts: Ray Ferraro with the Hartford Whalers and Atlanta Thrashers. Having a tough time finding a player from the modern era who was on more than two relocated teams. Tony Hrkac is another name I just thought of...

Even well traveled journeymen like Jarrod Skalde, Michel Petit, J.J. Daigneault, and Mike Sillinger haven't played on many relocated clubs (though they've been on tons of defunct minor league clubs).
 
Craig Patrick and Gary Croteau both played for the Seals and KC Scouts. Bobby Sheehan played for the Seals and Rockies.
 
If not for the stubborn NHL and this fantasy that people in Arizona give a lick about hockey you could have included Shane Doan twice. Winnipeg to Phoenix to...................I don't know.......Quebec?

Just a fun fact, Bobby Hull played for the Whalers and Jets in the NHL in 1979-'80. Neither team moved at that time but they did eventually. Just got me thinking, how many players played on two eventual relocated teams in one season? There has to have been some Winnipeg to Hartford or Quebec trades at some time.

And for the record I think for all the guys who went MNS->SJS that is a team relocation. For Anybody who came from another team, that would be considered moving to an expansion team.
