Didn't Victor Hedman have a pretty bad tournament in his draft year?

Nah he was good, he was just outshined by Erik Karlsson. Coming off his All-Star performance the year before. It was only "bad" because of the expectations, and people comparing him too much with Tavares for who should go nr 1.

Gostisbehere didn't wow at the 2013 WJC for Team USA. Obviously a bit early to call him a "massive success" though.

Dumba was one of the worst players I had ever seen suit up for Canada. This combined with Sutter's obsession with playing him was mind boggling. He's a decent NHL player now.

Brent Burns was loaned back from the NHL and was fairly average as I recall, he's often cited as an example of players getting loaned from the NHL that doesn't have good tournaments.

Why didnt Ryan O'Reilly make it to the u20 team back then? He's been quite good in the NHL
