So which players do you think would take their game to stardom or superstardom if they were elite or good at just one more skill?

Would be interesting to hear something specific rather than just generalized "goalscoring" or "skating", though that works too.
Nevermind...I see Garland and his genetics has already been mentioned

Evgeni Artyukhin, if he just had consistency to do this all the time.

Artyukhin and Kilger with elite offensive IQ are what immediately came to mind. Artyukhin’s skating for a 250 pound fighter was unreasonable. Kilger having his size skating and shot combo and never breaking 20 goals is an absolute mystery.

It’s funny, if you combine 2 middling bottom-6ers by putting Wellwood’s brain into Kilgers body you probably have a top 5 forward of the 2000s.

If Dustin Byfuglien had been a little faster, and I don't even mean much, he would have been in the top 10 all time defensemen conversation. He was already a physical mutant, and he had offensive instincts enough to play entire seasons as a forward. If he had a bit more speed to keep up with plays better or cover his own mistakes easier, then he'd have been unstoppable.

I don't know how a guy his size could ever really be fast. But that's my pick.

Mike Matheson with hockey IQ would be Bobby Orr.

Dude has everything else. It's true his shot isn't Weber like but it's more than good enough to score. Top 5 fastest skater in the league, good hands, good size.

Desharnais would be a very feared defenseman if he would rack up more highlight reel hits with his size.......I haven't exactly seen every game he's ever played so maybe i am missing some......

He does give the puck away too much as well....At least when i watched him play for Edmonton......

Ours is happening. I said last year that if Protas developed one more tool between his shot and his skating he'd be a menace with his frame and IQ, and now he's at 29 points in 34 games and using that gigantic frame with some new wheels and really causing unique problems for defenses.

I'm not sure if he's still in the league, but when Austin Wagner was on the Kings I thought that if he had even league average finishing he could've been special. The dude was one of the fastest skaters I've seen and would get breakaways almost every game but never finish

If Kevin Fiala understood the game he would be a superstar. Elite edgework and hands, terrific work ethic, absolutely zero situational awareness.

Samuel Ersson if he knew goalkeeper should stop the puck.
But if seriously, Owen Tippett if he had at least slightly below average hockey IQ. Speed, skating, size, compete, but literally zero IQ.
