When thinking about whether Connor Hvidston would get selected this year after not being signed by Anaheim, it made me wonder how many players have previously been selected in an NHL draft after already having a few AHL games of experience?

Pretty sure Nathan Walker played for Hershey before Caps drafted him.

Zack Smith got a PTO with the Manitoba Moose in April of 2008 and played in all 6 of their first round playoff games. Two months later he was drafted in the 3rd round [79th OA] by the Ottawa Senators.
