My pick is Ron Hextall, he was the prototype of a "crazy goalie", so entertaining to watch for his crazy antics or his blunders, he was a fight or a tragedy waiting to happen. You were never bored watching Ron Hextall, but if he was on your team, you weren't exactly satisfied a lot of times.
 
Really skilled players who weren't often big difference makers...e.g. Pierre Larouche, Kent Nilsson...

Some of the loose-cannon '80s goons...

Players not as good as their numbers and therefore might disappear in the playoffs...

To a certain extent, even guys like Chelios, Keith Tkachuk, etc. who often took very dumb penalties. A little love - hate with these guys...although I wouldn't say you wouldn't want guys like Chelios.

Avery created good stories (like the Hull do not speak like this to Mister Sakic), so even if it is a borderline case of wanting him in the NHL, I guess it was overall worth it, but definitely not on my team.
