What do you guys think was the reason for robertsons big decline last year? It wasn't just because of bad luck, he had way less shots on goal last year.

The difference comes entirely from the Powerplay.

If you look at his even strength shooting metrics they're basically comparable.
22-23:
iSAT/60: 17.96
USAT: 201

23-24:
iSAT/60: 16.07
USAT: 206

Any decline there can be explained by Pavelski no longer being able to keep up with the line.

However Robertson received FAR less PP time despite being easily the Stars' best PP player.

22-23:
3:19 PP TOI/GP

23-24:
2:46 PP TOI/GP

Part of that is questionable coaching staff decisions, part of that is the Stars draw penalties at a rate akin to the bottom-feeder/lottery teams of the league and just don't go on the powerplay much. In addition teams have figured out his shot is the most dangerous weapon on the ice and naturally overplay against that option.

So all that said, what do you predict he does this season for goals and points? Do you think his season from two years ago will end up being an outlier?

Wyatt Johnston!

Whether he ends up on the wing with Robo and Hintz or stays with Benn and Stank/Bourque, I still see him finishing over 70. I'm assuming WJ will replace Pavs on the top PP so that should increase his point totals.

37G 40A 77P and 11 fighting majors ;)
