this dude was never told "no" once in his life
That's not true. From the article:
At the age of 3, Dubois broke the rules at his first skating lesson by taking off with a hockey stick instead of a pylon in his hands. He couldn’t understand his German-speaking instructor. Sometime later, Dubois sat on the bench for almost an hour at a public skate, refusing to join his family on the ice because the staff wouldn’t let him bring his hockey stick.

When he started playing competitive hockey, Dubois once responded to a painful loss by refusing to shake hands with the other team. His dad tried to cajole him, threatening the loss of hockey playing and video game privileges. Still, Dubois refused, so his dad held firm. Dubois then spent a full week begging for his PlayStation and his hockey stick. When he got those privileges back, Dubois became the ultimate rage-quitter of video games, often storming out of the room if his older sister Daphne managed to beat him.
He was told "no" lots of times. He just threw tantrums when it happened.

In all fairness, a lot of hockey players are absolute morons. It's indicative of his own guilt that PLD has to blow smoke up the ass of everyone with a bunch of nonsense. Literally could just say "It was colombus and winnipeg" and save everyone an entire puff-piece. It's just manufactured by agents to justify their cut-throat moves. All in all I don't think this guy is ever going to be serious about being a top-level player, he's just happy with coasting by with 60 pts a season. He's not disciplined. I don't watch the Jets so I really don't understand how this guy has gotten so many penalty minutes. Props to Winnipeg for getting so much for him.

For a 20 odd goal, 60 point scorer, he has managed to whine his way to a big glamorous city with great weather, "metropolitan" things and one of the biggest contract on the Kings.

They don't need to fold but why hate someone that has a goal or vision on where they want live their life? Nothing to do with some markets shouldn't exist.
I know that is not what you meant, and players have the right to choose a destination as a UFA.

Dubois went about it the wrong way.

How? Winnipeg should be grateful he said something now. Not like they didn’t get quality players back. The fans are definitely making something out of nothing.

Viewing him from a distance, he always came of as more than a bit entitled and a little bit of a bag.

Most of the people on here clearly haven’t listened to the interview on AFKM, nor have they seen the article talking about what a key guy he is off ice with his team mates.

Ignoring all the unsubstantiated ‘rumours’ he‘s had a very good start off-ice for the Kings. He comes across well. Maybe it continues, maybe it doesn’t but at this point I’m happy with him. I don’t excuse ’the shift’ btw, it was disrespectful to the Columbus fans and downright stupid. However he is much older now and will have matured significantly.

How? You serious?

Bitching and moaning, literally stopped playing in Columbus during a game… that’s how. This isn’t a something out of nothing situation and I have no dog in the fight. Dude has proven to have questionable motivation on the ice if he isn’t getting it his way. Don’t get mad at people for pointing it out.

He spoke very well to reporters about his time in Winnipeg, I'll give him that. He was quite classy and pulled no cheap shots, I was actually impressed at how he handled it. He's had his day of hate in Winnipeg, I hope everyone else will move on and treat him like another hockey player now.

He didn't have a contract and stated his intentions.

No market is entitled to a player's life. Maybe teams should have more of a pulse on who each individual is before drafting/acquiring them.
